Dats the latest real crown we can get. So did Ford fix the f150 bricking issue yet? Slow charging? Last time I heard they were cutting back production. |

- Slow charging is not so slow imo - 350kW would be a game changer but 130kW ish average is still 30 mins or so to 80%. - Bricking was an early issue with firmware with specific Electrify America chargers. We don't even have 100+ kW chargers that aren't Tesla in Vancouver. - No Tesla Supercharger support until later this year really, adapters are just starting to ship out. - IDK why ppl talking about towing when only 7% tow more than once a year, 63% never tow. - Range is actually better than claimed because Ford rates with 1000lb payload, only 35% of owners put something in bed more than once a year - 60 miles towing enclosed 9000lb trailers with terrible aero is exagerrated... whereas for utility contractors like us at city/suburban speeds, we get 250km. - No heat pump until this year, winter range on the 24s is expected to be a lot better They should fire their marketing team, the story should be: - Most comfortable F150 ever with independent rear suspension - Bro you go snow / mud / whatever? Best traction control and your gasser doesn't even have a LSD/locker standard - Bro it's so stable and powerful towing your boat, which it can still do to the lake 125km away - Bro this thing is gonna be $800 cheaper every month, spend it on golf/shooting range/boat - Bro you're gonna get better than 500km if it's just people - Charge everywhere a Tesla can and more .... 15-80% in like 30 minutes |

Petro Canada, 7-Eleven, and Shell all claim 200kW but most common report on PlugShare seems to be to be 80-100kW. I wonder if they're being throttled by BCHydro/Fortis itself. |
https://www.f150lightningforum.com/f...24-jpeg.51579/ Some new uses of the frunk/app - Powered cooler in the frunk; cold towels, cold water, and lunch kits go in this thing for the jobsite - Pre-conditioning; 5-10 minutes before leaving the jobsite, we blast the A/C from the app - Boots/Glove dryer and deodorizer We have the base 2400W inverter... While driving, supports 400W in frunk while driving While stopped, has to be in accessory mode which is max 2 hours of so. Ford needs to release a software update that allows leaving the trunk on indefinitely when PRoPower is active |
BYD is planing to enter the Canadian market. That's pretty big news. They will be now surrounding the US. The are selling a Hybrid pickup in Mexico. https://electrek.co/2024/07/30/byd-s...can-ev-market/ |
That's great news, time up open up more eyes to show how far backwards na is. Competition leads to innovation |
Gooooo chinar !!!! Build my dreams damnit ! |
I watched one of the Out of Spec reviews on the Dolphin and some of the comments were like "the small motion pedal calibration is a bit rough, nothing like the Germans". And "oh this volume knob is pretty cheap, you can see how it moves with my hand." And "this is all very obviously built to the price." And at the same time also comments like "wow it really goes", "the turning radius is great!" I think BYD is onto something. They're putting cost only where it counts. The avg commuter doesn't give a damn about subtle throttle calibration and that perfect snickety snick of the controls. They just want to get reliably from A to B and spend as little money as possible to get there. |
i know they will tariff it all to hell to protect the lame ass domestic manufacturers, but if they can squeeze that dolphin, whale, sharkfin, jellyfish, seafood soup under 30k.. they will decimate the EV market. |
I was watching wheels boy reviews of China evs and the tech inside is leagues above us. Hobz needs his convertible https://cdn.motor1.com/images/mgl/3W...nt-colors.webp |
If anyone is interested in a cheap EV (~$10k), let me know, as I'm helping my neighbour sell her car. 2015 Nissan Leaf SV 77k KM Red on black cloth No accidents Dealer serviced ~125km on a full charge (new at 135km) |
https://www.topgear.com/car-news/fir...amic-audi-ever The wagon is a beauty but it's not coming to North America. The sedan's proportions around the back door looks terrible - like it's jacked up like a handicap taxi. https://www.topgear.com/sites/defaul...?w=1784&h=1004 |

North American customer more brand conscious than EU and China, so I don't think they'll find much headway. Like, a MY21 Model 3 with 50k miles for 21.6k US after EV tax credit is so hard to beat https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GT0t0Bva...jpg&name=large |
In the states for sure. At those prices why wouldn’t you drive a Tesla. Byd gotta really drop their pants in order to gain market share or they have to relocate factory to USA to get around the tariffs. |
BYD Pricing in Australia is ~5k lower than the Model 3 and ~5-10k lower than the Model Y. I think it'll come down to how lease pricing compares... imagine BYD using a China based bank to fund leases with hella inflated residuals |
USA will never let them undercut pricing there, they have all kind of anti-dumping tariffs and duties to stick on everything. They even went after Japanese manufacturers in the past when the Yen has been advantageous. I don't think BYD is ready to deal with the customer service demands and level of entitlement of the average American consumer either... which is probably why they said they don't have current plans to sell there. The need for real estate and parts/service network is off the charts expensive. |
I wonder how vinfast is able to do this. They are doing a better job than frisker is it 3.0 now? I mean look at all the great American companies, canoo, lordstown, what was the other fraud one? Nikola, they literally all had billions of US and what did they make. I guess things are better with the dongs:pokerface::ifyouknow: |
