Anyone heard of any feedback on the Audi Q4 Etron? In the market and saw it as an alternative to the model Y. |

No 360 camera is a big bummer in my opinion. |

Is the 360 a part of the higher technik package? Or just not available overall? |

While I was typing that, I guess maybe it's good for ease of repair. Something that a regular automaker would think about, but Tesla probably won't. |
I would expect it makes it easier for them to design crumple zones too. I would expect they need to factor in somebody putting something solid in there and adjust the rest of it accordingly. With no frunk they can do whatever they like. |
The additional storage space afforded by a frunk is so useful though. From a consumer's point of view, it's a matter of everyday practicality and usability. Essentially, it is almost as important as having good cabin space (vs having crappy cabin space). IMO, EV specific plantforms not having a frunk is purely a matter of manufacturer laziness -- if they want to do it, I'm sure it can be done. The Ford Lightning, for example, has a ginormous frunk that is super practical. They are not doing it only bcos it makes the manufacturer's job easier, and they think they can get away with it. After all, most ICE cars don't have a frunk either, and the consumers are just fine with that too, right? |
The mustang has a frunk too, I'm surprised so many dedicated EV don't have a frunk |
I always find using the frunk a bit annoying.... I rather put stuff behind the driver seat if anything. |
I got two kids, the backseats are full of kids stuff. A frunk is a uniquely useful thing because I back in to all my spots, being able to put things in the front is just more convenient. Alas we are looking for a plugin hybrid so there would be no frunk anyways. If I were to go for an EV then I would really require it to have a frunk. If they made a mid engine AWD SUV, that would give me a frunk? :lawl: |
Wait a minute. You shat out another one ?! I thought you only have one hellspawn. Congrats I guess… Why the fuck did you create two of these half Guangdong half shanghainese things ?!? Stop trying to bridge our two cultures ! |
bro its too late, I have two as well looooooooool Lack of frunk is really just to save on R&D, because rather than a dedicated design from the ground up radiator, fuse box, brake master, battery tray, windshield washer reservoir etc etc We will just borrow from our gasoline brethren~~~ Which has no frunk to design around in the 1st place, that's why you see them all over the place under the hood. The EV exclusive brands have frunks is because there are no existing parts bin to borrow components from. So if you are going to design on the clean slate, might as well make sure everything is designed with a frunk in mind |

I honestly didn’t have any problems with Tesla until he started spewing his views on shit and now I can’t disassociate the car brand from his insanity. To be honest it shouldn’t bother me as much as it does but just the thought of giving him money makes me uncomfortable |
Cuz building EVs ain't easy, how many has failed? All manufacturers are walking back from EV. Frisker 2.0? 3.0? Karma? Lordstown? Lucid? Canoo? The only one that maybe can make it is vinfast as it seems like they are really trying to push affordable EVs. Even legacy EVs are pretty shit, look at bz4x shit, aria, where's the gm stuff. And Toyota, Nissan, GM had like a 20 year head start. |

I was certain we'd get a Model Y next. Now I'm straining to justify getting anything but that. The EV9 has widely known issues with draining its 12V battery overnight and bricking itself. And even then I'm rationalizing ohh, maybe they'll fix it by MY2025 later this year. And that it isn't so bad to carry a battery jumper pack around! Just in case it happens to me lol. |
Lol the struggle to justify buying a Tesla the same struggle to justify voting for Trudeau. Probably still the best choice, but also wishing there was a better option. |
I dont want to sound like a Tesla fanboy, but honestly, separate Elon from Tesla, he isn't even the founder, just early investor. /// as many above has mentioned, they just got the correct formula in today's market. I will say the updated 2025 Ioniq 5 is getting closer to the Tesla formula, but when the time finally comes when the Ioniq 5 ships with NACS port, I think then we will be on even playing field. Slower than the Y for sure, but more feature sets hahaha... Another thing going for Tesla, especially in the Asian community is that, they think Tesla is an entry premmy brand (which we know the fit and finish is far from it), whereas all the other competing brands are "base tier" brands like Hyundai, Toyota, Subaru, Nissan, Ford etc etc etc |
