didn't watch the game, can someone explain that no goal by the preds? wtf is "intent to blow whistle"?

is that the ref's way of saying he should have blew down the play but didn't and now is fixing it?

Basically when there's a scramble or ref loses sight of the puck, he might be too "busy" trying to find the puck. As soon as he mentally decides that the play should be dead, the puck might enter the net before he is quick enough to physically put the whistle in his mouth and blow. He can call back the goal with "intent to blow whistle".

I knew this rule before, but it makes me wonder even more why those "Push our goalie into the net" goals counted... those should also have been called back under the "intent to blow whistle" rule.

I was actually mad they disallowed the goal for that reason, makes the calls earlier in the season that much more bogus. So sick of the crazy inconsistency in the NHL, all we ask for as fans is that shit gets called the same on a game-to-game basis! If I was a player in this league, I'd literally have no idea what I'm actually allowed to get away with. And don't even get me started on playoffs where all the sudden the rulebook just vanishes into thin air.

Virtanen isn't putting up points which is pretty scary to think he might be a bust so early in his career...I mean if he isn't putting up points I hope he is trying to get on the score sheet with Pims.
