Hard to argue based on the TOI/GP since the other guys ahead of him in ice time are basically the d core. Just sucks cause Willie is fired and he would've seen significantly more ice time next season given how well he played this season.

To me it seems the Canucks organization is pretty much a joke. Owners want to be involved way to much, why fire willieD with one year left on his contract f&ck it not like this team will be a contender in one season. Now they have to pay willie plus hire someone else and that coach will suck for the next foreseeable future and will be fired in 2-3 years and the viscous circle continues.
Maybe I am wrong but are the Canucks not still paying some or all of Tortz contract?

coaching and management fucked up when they didn't play him at the beginning of gen season thinking they had better options, then once he got into the lineup it was clear those "other options" were not as good.

I put some of it on him being a typical Russian cry baby but some of it has to be on dim Jim in not being able to convince him to stay, especially considering Willy is gone now.
