the roster/contract spot he vacated is infinitely more valuable than he was anyway

sucks about Tryamkin...guess we'll be seeing a lot more of Gudbranson. Brace yourselves for a long extension.

I hate seeing a Canadian team out of the running, but the Ducks sweep makes me feel a bit better about the Flames sweeping the Canucks in round one a couple seasons ago.

big Russian baby....... I've been calling this since day one.
That's why Ovi will never have a cup, and will only win Olympic gold if Team Canada and USA don't allow NHL players.

Fuck what did Goldobin say to Tryamkin in that little clip from practice????

"yo you down to go back to Russia for a bigger paychq?" :fuckthatshit:

pretty sure tryamkin wants to play in the Olympics, every UFA/RFA should sign 1 yr in the KHL just to go to the Olympics if theyre not in a cup contender

It is a bit strange because I got the feeling he genuinely was enjoying himself here... he was always trying to do extra little things like get the goalie's sticks for them or when he tried to help shove Sutter to the bench when he was hurt that time... always going to talk to Miller after plays for advice and on the bench was constantly talking to Lidster...

I felt like he was super engaged, part of what was kind of making him endearing to the fans here.

Its funny that you go there first. You dont know the guy. Maybe his big picture is living in the country he was born in and spending time with his family.

Or is this big picture thing all one option and not different for each individual?

RiceIntegraRS 04-20-2017 12:24 PM

Maybe Tryamkin knew his next contract still couldn't buy himself a house here

On the contrary, I'm hoping the oilers get booted more than the Flames. They outplayed us fair and square, but oilers fans have been unbearable since they got into the playoffs.

For those of you who may have a tryamkin jersey, someone has come up with a way to make the jersey relevant again

I think probable that Tryamkin signed back in the KHL to play in the Olympics, especially if he only signed a 1 year deal.

TjAlmeida 04-20-2017 05:33 PM

i agree. Or first year away from home and misses it which is understandable. He will mature and want to come back to the NHL. I have not seen any details yet on the term of his khl contract. I am more so worried about this hindering his development. He made great strides this year and would suck to see him regress into a poor form in the khl

AzNightmare 04-20-2017 06:23 PM

GG hawks. Cool. 2 goals in the entire series.
Must be some NHL record.

EmperorIS 04-20-2017 06:24 PM

Hawks are not very good............

dbaz 04-20-2017 08:59 PM

so our management team would constantly show videos of pronger playing to tryamkin and told him he had to play like that. between willie and that no wonder why he left

Heard about the Pronger video on 1040 today and as much as it sucks to lose Tryamkin, I do respect him for standing up for his own beliefs in how he should play. It's gotten him this far, after all.

Hopefully he'll realize the NHL offers more than KHL overall, come back and let the team know he'll play his own game. He played physical enough without being a goon IMO and as years go by and he gets more comfortable, I'm sure he'll learn his size is his strength and become more physical within his comfort zone.

Its like anyone starting a new job and being tentative at first.. after gaining some experience you gain confidence and start producing.
