That said fuck 'em, I don't feel sorry for them at all inheriting (stealing?) a Stanley cup team from Quebec before any of their fans ever got to see the Cup handed to them. With our luck we'll stop supporting the Canucks out of anger and they'll move to Seattle and win a Cup lol

As long we draft a top centre with this pick. We're good. Aside from bo, we don't have another centre stepping up. We have lots of wingers but no centres to play top two lines

Thing is, outside of Nico and Patrick i dont think there were any "top" aka potential first line centres in the draft
That might change in a couple of years. Hopefully we luck out a la Horvat and find someone who may not seem like they'll be tops at first but steps up later on.

Dallas probably gets Nichushkin back for 18-19, too (possibly this year if he has an out clause; he signed a 2-year deal in the KHL to get away from Ruff, who was fired earlier this month). He was 2nd in points/game for CSKA Moscow, who finished tied for the most points in the league.
That said, they're still going nowhere with that defense and goaltending.
