Kesler is better than any current Canuck player imo, guy is still a beast out there |
|
Aside from size, he's really not that good. In a normal draft year, I'd say the first round would be a stretch. |
We don't need another Jake |

Yep most of his points on the pp and is known for overpowering due to his size. Unfortunately I think Mittlestadt is similar but it's been hidden a bit as a bunch of his even strength points have come with an empty net. Mike Johnston recently said Glass reminds him of Johansen, while Button said his comparable was Scheifele. |
Haven't heard of Cody Glass til recently but the numbers ain't bad |
That's a good comparison. I was high on glass earlier on but got a bit worried about his points being inflated because of Rasmussen on the pp and some reports of him not being overly engaged. but those stats and watching recent games show he should prob be top 5... If not top4 |
watch Glass go in the top 4 because Canucks lol Tanev + 2017 1st (5th) for Drouin and 2017 1st (14th) pick I'd do it |
Bro Jake was back on Team1040 this morning. Apparently he's been in the hospital for the last month recovering from a life threatening illness. He talked about how McCrae's passing scared the hell out of him because he talked to Neil that morning and he didn't say anything about the fact that Neil was just that bad. That still didn't make up for the draft robbery, er, I mean draft lottery... |

Had a feeling we'd get 5th, bet my buddy. Profit. :victory: |

Tanev plus this years pick for Drouin sounds like some retooling shit Benning pulled before. Basically moving younger top prospect in 5th pick for older top prospect in Drouin. |
Drouin is 22, drafted the same year as Horvat so i'd hardly call him an older prospect Seeing as Horvat is part of the next core, this doesn't look like retooling to me but adding another piece to that emerging core. He's a 60+ pt player with a high ceiling still that would pretty much add a bonafide top 6 element to the line up. This vs picking 5th in a shallow draft where it's likely we won't see the player for 2-3 years. Couple in the fact that should we draft someone who's committed to the NCAA there's that small chance they'll leave. And Canuck luck where we're likely to fuck up picking wrong. Drouin is a pretty safe choice. At least for swaps involving this year's draft imo. But i don't think that's gonna happen. Tanev is so underrated it works to his disadvantage in that he doesn't have as high a trade value as people think. |
I agree but I feel it's better for the Canucks to draft a top centreman with the pick we have on hand rather than loading up on another top 6 winger. After Bo, who are we going to rely? Sutter? lol I think the last top 6 potential centres we drafted aside from Bo were McCann, Coho, and Kesler? |
dble post |
would be interesting to see if there's interest in Dallas/Phi to move down the draft bunch of analysts are saying they have a need to strengthen their blueline and are both possible playoffs teams next season |

though after Hischier/Patrick, we won't be seeing whoever we draft for some time so we won't know if we've drafted a top 6 potential for a while it'll be another kick in the pants if they draft a fucking dman this year the more i hear about Glass, the more I like the idea of drafting him...watch him be gone by the time we draft :rukidding: |

Aside from Nico, Mittlestadt supposedly has the highest end offensive potential. High hockey IQ and a strong skater. Invaluable qualities in a young kid. He's likely 2-3 years out though, committing to University. Yah it sucks we got 5th. At this point, I would be ok with one of either Vilardi, Glass, Mittlestadt, or Miro Heiskanen. Seeing that we are in the 5th spot, likely to get one of those guys. And who knows, maybe they won't be franchise altering, but if they could end up being an impact core player, that's not so bad. Especially since the 2018 draft is supposed to be a lot better. |
Tryamkin KHL deal is for 3 years Yeah, maybe we won't see him for a while...if ever. Canucks hold rights til 2022 iirc |
