Ever try and watch a show with the volume as low as possible, where the dialogue is just audible? Then an explosion occurs in the show and the volume suddenly seems way too loud. That is what is happening with loud commercials. They are supposed to be sticking to the volume of the show, yet they set the loudness to that of the loudest point in the show and keep it at that for the entirety of the commercial. At least that is how I understand it. They aren't allowed to exceed the show's broadcast volume.

I have filed a complaint to CRTC. All they did was forward the complaint to Rogers and Rogers essentially said although they can't control the volume of the commercials, they feel the variation is within tolerance... :rukidding:
