we are gonna hear a lot of Nylander and Matthews... good lord. |
typical leafs still lost tho lol |
Nolan Patrick will look good centering the 2nd line. |
can the Leafs even get the first overall pick two years in a row now with the new draft rules? |
Didn't brunstrom scored a hatty in his debut? Lol Matthews does look pretty good. I have to say the NHL prob did something to make sure the leafs get him? The owner did pay $3 billion for Canadian rights. Plant one of the best player in the biggest market of the NHL |
holy fuk that 2nd goal! also first player to score 4 in debut in modern day nhl |

Watching these games (Toronto v Ottawa and Edmonton v Calgary) makes me sad... we have never had anyone, besides Bure, in our entire history with even half the excitement inducing abilities of a Matthews or a McDavid. 40+ years and only ONE player even close to being that dynamic. |

Toronto brass gets it. There's no chance at making the playoffs so might as well play super shitty to guarantee yourself a top end talent for the seasons to come. It's not rocket science. |
did Zack Kassian lose weight? anyway that goal he scored was filthy, so much wasted potential....... :okay: |
no one mentioned canucks giving away free beer on opening day? http://dailyhive.com/vancouver/canuc...me-opener-2016 |

Well fuck a duck, the ducks claimed Etem off waivers. |

Ducks claim Etem on waivers from Canucks Ian McLaren Oct 13, 2016 9:14 AM Emerson Etem is returning to the team that drafted him. The forward has been claimed off waivers by the Anaheim Ducks from the Vancouver Canucks, as first reported by Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet. Etem failed to crack the Canucks' opening-night roster and had been placed on waivers for the purpose of being assigned to the AHL. The 29th overall pick in the 2010 NHL Draft split last season between the Rangers and Canucks following three years with the Ducks. Altogether, he has appeared in 170 career games, with 22 goals and 24 assists to his credit. |
Eh. |
just another pick pissed away |
It was etem to lose. Same thing to Higgins. I wonder how this will affect the team, they all seem to be buddy buddy with etem. Did a lot of group things together with him and pedan. |

The term generational player gets thrown around a lot. I've seen so many "the next one" fizzle out. But if that's what his career is going to look like, then the term is proper. |
