Looks like every other Super Mario game out there, but the designers took a little acid this time. |
That was amazing. |
At first it looked like someone attempting to recreate Mario in Flash, but then it just got more and more absurd. It's cool they're doing something different with side scrolling Mario again. NSMB was a cool throwback when it came out, but everything after it was uninspired and dull. |
Never been a fan of platformers. I’d say super Mario world is the only game that ever held my attention, and maybe mischief makers on the N64 only because I remember I beat it as a rental. Prefer the Mario galaxy, etc. type of game any day Mario RPG definitely has me in though. I’ve tried to play it on the virtual console a few times and then forgotten it and never got more than half way through so I will wait and enjoy the remake. Man, Nintendo makes a ducking killing just redoing IP lol |
So I’ve put about 60-70 hours into Zelda I think, maybe less, probably done 5/8 to 3/4 of the main story line Gotta say, this is an all time Nintendo game, top 10, maybe top 5 game of all time for them imo. They did somthing I thought I’d never latch onto and that is make me enjoy platforming as well as crafting which are two things I’ve -never- been a fan of in any game whatsoever. They also FINALLY nailed the reward system in terms of doing somthing ie. getting deep down into a cave, deep into a Side quest and being adequately rewarded, which was neverrrrrr a Zelda thing, in any previous game. Generally you’d grind and grind or do a huge side quest for a stupid reward you don’t care about. Finally they made it worth while On top of that the characters in this game are probably the best in the entire series, the quests are infinitely more engaging than BoTw even, and the way they recycled the map but made just enough changes with the upheaval to make it feel completely new I may like this game more than Red Dead 2 and red dead 2 is in my top 5 all time for sure. Amazing game 10/10 all day long even with the frame rate issues |
I'm gonna have to try that Zelda out, I never played BOTW so at least it should feel like a completely new game to me since I can't remember the last Zelda I actually played. I wish Nintendo had some kind of achievement system I find I play the game in depth more when you get some kind of recognition for doing certain things instead of just beating the main story. |
According to my Switch profile I have 105 hours in Zelda, and I only beat 2 of the 4 main dungeons lol.. No mazes either and maybe one world boss. I spent so much time exploring and building and clearing out the underground and sky worlds... It really is great for that, but I still find the game itself to be quite lacking.. As in the dungeons and fighting are the weakest part, with the low frame rate, sluggish controls. I don't even know how much further I'll get into it before just dropping it, even though what I did play was highly enjoyable for the most part. I haven't touched it in a few days.. I am still satisfied even though I only "beat" less than half of it. |
They did a great job with the “discoveries” caves and such because you don’t really know what you’re getting into and next thing you know you’ve spent 20 minutes down there |
Yup and there's a lot of different armor to find, even though a lot of it will barely get used (and I don't like that some of it isn't upgradeable) |
I got Zelda: Tears for my gf for her birthday as well as the hard to find wireless Zelda: Tears Nintendo brand controller... excited to see her play it when she gets it in a couple weeks! |
