its hard as fuck if you haven't seen game play of it yet,but rated one of the most creative games to come out, super challenging,i pity some poor kid who's too stupid to learn the boss combo attacks to dodge them, that's the only way you're winning if you learn to avoid the attacks dying like 50 times...they change it up the further you make it near the end so its very rewarding.

it's pretty much on the level of those 80's arcade games where you dodging shit in a space ship hoping you dont get hit too many times in a mario form while shooting ur gun attack in Cup head.

Towerfall is 50% off ($12.50) on the eShop. Celeste is also on sale, but not as great of a discount.
Great couch multiplayer game. No online.

There's a lot of ports on the Switch. I like to use Steam's refund policy to try stuff out before I purchase it on the Nintendo eShop. It's helped to prevent purchases that aren't discounted :)

I purchased a Ring Fit today because the wife wanted to buy it after she saw a review. I think this is going to be a system seller. It improves upon the idea of Wii Fit. I only tried 10 minutes because exercise is hard after drinking, but it is a workout. The adventure aspect really helped with keeping motivated. I think Nintendo is going to win Christmas 2019.

any inside scoop on if/when the next gen switch is going to come out? if i'm in the market for one should i bother waiting or just wait for a deal and get one?

it's for the kids and i think they just want mario maker2?

SkinnyPupp 10-22-2019 05:54 AM

I think if they do another hardware refresh, it won't be until next xmas. They just released the Lite, and they just tweaked the current Switch with better battery life but no other changes.

GLOW 10-22-2019 05:38 PM

they also do those "trade in your sold system for new" things as well when a new one drops right? i guess i can get the tweaked version now and trade-in if a new one drops

anything i should be looking out for? i'm basically an old man with video games getting it for my young kids. i assume i'll need a 2nd controller?

SkinnyPupp 10-22-2019 05:49 PM

The Switch comes with 2 small controllers that have basic functionality. Definitely good enough for the kids. If you want to play 4 player games, you'll need to buy another pair. If you want full controller functionality (with a normal layout and a d-pad), you need to buy a Pro Controller

Presto 10-23-2019 04:20 PM

Unless there is a worthy, portable competitor Nintendo is going to milk the Switch as long as possible. DS Lite went 9 years before it got discontinued. After 8 years, the 3DS is still active although near EOL. The Switch is only 2 years old, and it's killing it.

SkinnyPupp 10-23-2019 05:05 PM

Switch already has performance and quality issues with ported games though

Hondaracer 10-23-2019 05:54 PM

Switch pretty much only has ported games.. the library sucks imo

But as usual I bought a console for one game, botw lol

threezero 10-28-2019 10:14 PM

Had the switch for almost a year now. I find that it is still best in handheld form.

But god damn is the joy con uncomfortable.

Just pick up the official Pro joy con from Hori. This makes the switch actually comfortable in handheld mode. Not to mention all the button and analog stick is now full size.

A little hard to carry around with the size of this thing but it works great if you are like me and just like to chill on the couch and play games while the big screen plays netflix.

^ Interesting design. I like that it doesn't have a controller stick, so essentially you'd get rid of the drift issues.

You do lose a couple of functions with this joy con replacement though. Most noticeably the gyro and HD rumble.

But the trade off is well worth the comfort and the full size analog stick and button IMO.

It draw battery from the switch itself though. You won’t be able to use this detached.

If this does good perhaps Hori will consider making a version with all of the above missing functions.

I prefer a solid grip case to hold my switch for long periods of time.

Anyone getting Luigi's Mansion 3? I've never played it before but initial reviews are good!

urrh 11-01-2019 02:27 PM

my only experience with luigi's mansion is for the 3ds.
i didn't think it was anything special and i wasn't fond of playing such a coward. but i suppose others could think that's charming

Has anyone done joy con repair with Nintendo?

Did they ever send you a shipping label?

I've submitted a ticket before but only received a ticket

ewong 11-08-2019 08:22 AM

Nintendo offers free joy con repair, but I haven't gotten a shipping label.

Szeto 11-08-2019 08:35 AM

been enjoying mine (1st gen) for almost a month, only got mario kart and one piece (slash and hack) on there. Haven't seen the trade-in old for new promo recently.

Need to pick up overcooked (2?) to play with gf, any other games you guys play with your SO?

lilaznviper 11-11-2019 11:07 AM

i mostly play overcooked 2 with the gf and friends. also play tetris as well as the super nintendo games from the online subscriptions

anyone got the new zelda game and if its any good?

Hondaracer 11-12-2019 09:29 AM

Have you played Links awakening on gameboy?

For me it’s one of my top 10 all time games, I haven’t played the new one but if you’ve never played it before I think it will be enjoyable as the story and gameplay is excellent

Hondaracer 11-14-2019 10:48 AM

Who’s getting dat Pokemon ?

ewong 11-14-2019 07:32 PM

I preordered Shield. I avoided all the reviews since I was gonna get it regardless

Feel free to add me if you want to trade SW-1271-6185-0245

Hey guys.

Last Nintendo I bought was the GameCube. Brother bought the wii (which we haven’t even taken out of storage for 5+ years). No wiiU, no switch. I don’t even game much on my xboneS.

For a casual gamer who misses his hardcore Nintendo childhood. Is the switch lite worth it? I remember loving my original DS (then ds lite) for years.
