I dropped mine doing 55. Not fun.

Badhobz 06-09-2022 02:14 AM

Oooo shit. Yeah that’s super not fun. You gotta be careful man. It’s just like a 49cc scooter. You CAN get pretty messed up.

blkgsr 06-09-2022 06:15 AM

no one going to costco? much cheaper

just crossing in to blaine the cast is still expensive, sure slightly cheaper than up here.

it's worth it to drive down to bellingham and especially to the costco

roastpuff 06-09-2022 08:40 AM

The extra 45 minutes round trip (plus the wait in line) isn't worth the extra savings, IMO. I also tend to go later at night so Costco gas closed usually by then...

I go to the D St gas stations, they're the cheapest in Blaine I think. The Shell has Tillamook dairy stuff so that's a bonus, plus the cashier is really nice so I like chatting with her for a bit. Get the Shell Fuel Rewards card for a little extra savings...

twitchyzero 06-09-2022 07:51 PM

not sure what hour you're going, i haven't had to wait at that costco gas bar in years

but i agree for just fuel and cheese, blaine's good enough

$6/gal = $2.11/L for 92 at D Street on Saturday. F

If that’s point roberts, I think that she’ll is way over priced there. The can am 92 was way cheaper

JDMDreams 06-20-2022 07:53 AM

Can am pr yesterday was $1.429 for 87, I think 92 was $1.629? The guy at shell kept pushing shell with packages but I'm not sure if it's really cheaper I think few cents off if you pay cash plus $0.05 off a gallon with the shell card? But seems like a hassle to carry so much cash everytime.

Badhobz 06-20-2022 07:55 AM

if its 2.11 a L, it hardly seems like its worth it to drive down there.

2.27a L yesterday.... so 45L you save $7.20

radeonboy 06-20-2022 09:20 AM

I filled up at Shell PR on Saturday and it was $6.399/gal for 92 - I didn't make note of the price until after I finished filling up.

Bic uses premium, so 94 or 93 up here which is $2.50+ a litre,

Traum 06-20-2022 09:42 AM

If I am doing my math right, the spread between US (Shell) 92 gas vs regular gas is ~Cdn 15 - 16˘/L.

Locally in Vancouver, the smallest spread you see is Cdn 21 - 22˘ at Esso / Mobil type of place (for 91 vs 87). At Shell / Chevron, you're looking at a Cdn 26 - 27˘ spread.

would it cost comparably if you follow local premium for regular gas price instead of driving to the US?
there seems to be one or 2 daily

68style 06-21-2022 07:29 AM

I still fill up in PR…. But only if I’m picking up packages…. And I use the Can-Am not the higher price Shell / Chevron… never ever had an issue in 10 years

92 at can am still works out to be cheaper than regular here on most nights. I live very close to PR and you know, have a life, so watching the Facebook group to run out of the house and wait in a big line to get gas. Nah I’ll just dip to PR around midnight for 7 minutes

But let’s say someone didn’t have a passport, then yeah totally

JDMDreams 06-21-2022 10:19 AM

Don't forget Jerry cans, the more you fill the bigger the savings, cough Acura604:lawl:

Badhobz 06-21-2022 08:56 PM

Just don’t get rear ended gents. Don’t wanna see a fireball in the news just because you guys wanted to save a few bucks.

Please be careful transporting fuel.

Traum 06-22-2022 01:12 AM

Hmm... this is getting interesting... if Biden succeeds in temporarily suspending their gas tax, then there'll be an additional 18.4˘'s worth of reason to fill up at Blaine / PR~!

JDMDreams 06-22-2022 10:27 AM

How about just unsanction Russia, ??? Profit no need to raise interest rates :considered:

You know the price of crude per barrel is still about $100 right? This is nothing but pure extortion and price gouging and the government is letting it happen I assume

donk. 06-22-2022 03:57 PM

Just because the price of crude was 90$ 10 years ago, and it's 90$ today, does not mean the end user price will stay the same

The cost to:
Pay scientists to find crude
Test drilling
Setting up new sites
Hire staff to drill, when there are no staff to hire
Transport that crude
Process it
Transport it again
Sell it
Clean the tanks that store it
New environmental safety policies (through all the steps above)
and literally every single person associated with that process, their wages have gone up, every year, for the last 10 years
Don't forget maintenance of all that equipment, legal, etc

320icar 06-22-2022 04:15 PM

You’re right. Better Jack it up to $5.99L
