donk. 06-29-2022 10:43 AM

When I was ultra cheap in highschool, I was on some gas forums, and would drive to the cheapest gas in my area to fill up each time

Can't recall what it's called, it had like a map and all prices at all times, user based info with timestamps

underscore 06-29-2022 11:32 AM

Gasbuddy or fuelly?

Traum 06-29-2022 01:17 PM

It has to be Gas Buddy, since Fuelly is more of a usage / fuel economy tracking kind of website.

whitev70r 06-29-2022 01:51 PM

Well, I mean you pick and choose. If you live in Richmond, you're not going to a station in North Van ...right?

JDMDreams 09-24-2022 11:12 PM

320icar 09-25-2022 08:47 AM

Yo what the fuck happened. Thank god i decided to gas up Thursday night, cuz by Friday it went up 50c a litre.

So what ever happened to that government inquiry a few years ago and proved there was price fixing and gouging? I noticed no change in any practices

westopher 09-25-2022 08:52 AM

Excellent timing for my little road trip. Thanks Obama.

Has govt inquiry ever done anything but setup million dollar studies and advisory boards that discover the equivalent of water is wet?

concluded they couldn't explain a 13c difference
then went back to their ivory towers

Gumby 09-25-2022 09:56 AM

Current around 2.14-2.20 in Vancouver. Might go up even higher today!

I found out if you don’t drive like a nut bag, my ratrolla gets surprisingly good gas mileage. The engine is so under stressed while on the highway

Constantly see guys on the LC500 facebook group saying they get crazy highway mileage

BIC_BAWS 09-25-2022 07:43 PM

Wow that gets the same gas mileage as my Type R.. maybe even more. But boost is addicting. And it only has a 42L tank.

AzNightmare 09-25-2022 08:24 PM

My fuel consumption is incredible when I'm off boost.
But I can't enjoy my car unless I'm in boost... so driving like a nut bag it is...

BIC_BAWS 09-26-2022 01:46 PM

Blaine Pricing as of yesterday

$5.059 Speedway 92 = $1.80 ($1.85 after cc fees)
$5.559 Exxon 92 = $1.98 ($2.03)
$5.799 Shell 92 = $2.07 ($2.12)

Edit: my conversion is based on a $1.35USD to CAD not today's $1.37 USD:CAD. Jesus.

A big V8 that that makes a million TQ idling helps. Same story with the Corvette LS guys.

I heard this on the news today about some of the factors behind the fast increase in gas prices:

https://vancouver.citynews.ca/2022/0...-gas-prices-4/

A slew of unexpected refinery disruptions, including fires and routine maintenance, have seemingly all happened in a short span of time, causing wholesale gas prices to spike in areas of the West Coast, Great Lakes and Prairies, and some of those areas could see prices spike another 10 to 20 cents per litre or more until issues are worked out.”

The head petroleum analyst at GasBuddy.com says one of the longest gas price declines on record has finally come to an end after over a dozen weeks, blaming a “myriad [of] refinery issues” across the country.

“I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a wider gamut of price behaviours coast-to-coast in my career,” Patrick DeHaan told CityNews.

DeHaan adds even more refiners could see disruption as Tropical Storm Ian nears the U.S. coast.

In other words, a lack of refinery capacity and tropical storms shutting down U.S. refineries is partly to blame for the rapid increase in gas price? Hmmm. :suspicious:

I don't buy that explanation. Do we not get most of our gas from Alberta? We have pipelines operating.

trollface 09-26-2022 03:19 PM

Does Gas Buddy actually have a Petro Analyst?

Why? They just report on prices based on user input lol. Why do they need a Petro Analyst?

We trading WTI in the app now?

I don’t get how it works.
Here’s the car at idle. How can it be the same as if it’s going 100km/h. That gearing is nuts with 10 speeds.
