However, I cannot bring myself to vote for the liberal party, and as a result, I must vote for PP.

I think this was amplified 10 million fold in the states for this election. I guarantee you a fairly sizeable portion of the US population were trying to hold down their lunch as they marked their ballot red, however, many probably felt like that was the only choice to be made.

I don't agree with the sentiment that it's the liberals who got focused on woke/social issues - it's the right who turned things like abortion, gay rights, transgender people in washrooms, sex education, banning books in schools into issues. They looked for the drama and used it to stir up hate and fear. They created fake stories of "men" going into women's washrooms - Trump would talk about kids getting sex changes at school without their parents approval.

Do I think liberals don't talk about their economics success enough? Yeah, they consistently show better economic performance when they are in power but I don't think talking about universal health care or raising minimum wages got buried under woke issues.

I think something we vastly underestimate here is how dire many people’s situations are in the states. There are levels of poverty and discontent we do not even come close to anywhere in Canada as much as I harp on that.

No one outside of the bloody wonky partisan DC-sphere gave a flying fuck about January 6th. Most people looked at it as a bunch of goofies having a bit of a party. It wasn't a coup, the government wasn't even close to being overthrown, these idiots weren't organized in any meaningful manner to achieve that.

Whining about January 6th isn't a bloody platform, and I never understood why 4 years later the Democrats spent so much energy harping on about it as opposed to the real issues people are focused on. January 6th when polled to people didn't even fall in the Top 10 of major items.
