COPENHAGEN, Denmark — Denmark’s foreign minister summoned the top U.S. diplomat in the country for talks after the main national broadcaster reported Wednesday that at least three people with connections to U.S. President Donald Trump have been carrying out covert influence operations in Greenland.

In a lengthy written statement, the U.S. State Department confirmed that the deputy chief of mission in Copenhagen, Mark Stroh, had met with Danish foreign ministry officials. It declined to comment “on the actions of private U.S. citizens in Greenland.”

Skinny, why is there no permanent ban on Jason????

This is RS. We talk about car culture and other topics.

This ain't no anti-vax cabal!!!!

I mean, if those posts were on a forum in HK, you would see a permanent ban already on that guy in the interests of Hong Kong's "national security law", right Skinny? LUL

For those of you with American friends and family at what point did things cross over from you teasing them about how bad things were in the states to you feeling really sorry for them?

I used to tease and make fun of my American cousins for what was happening down there with Trump but the last few months it hasn't felt right as it's passed the point of Trump being a nuisance to him being a threat to the US.

For me, I have a large extended family of American cousins, an aunt, and uncle. They live in California, Arizona, and New York.

There has never been any "crossover" from teasing them about Trump to showing sympathy for my American fam because some Americans like to keep their political views private. I rarely chat about American politics with my American extended fam.

In fact it is some of the Canadian cousins who make jokes and send memes on Whatsapp group chats about Trump and the state of American government.

My cousins, aunt and uncle never talk to me or my immediate family about American politics. Ever. No mention of Trump or the state of American government in whatsapp group chats either.

When I sent a GIF in a Whatsapp chat that showed an election result of Trump being the president as the same as "a guy sitting on a toilet. Diarrhea forever", my American cousins just laughed with their emojis on that group chat. :lawl:

My cousins, aunt and uncle support the Democrats. My uncle in Arizona asked one his grand daughters, one of my nieces, to bring in his mail-in vote for Kamala and the Democrat candidate for Arizona's senator to a local mail box.

Although they never ever talk about American politics or Trump, I have a feeling they hate President No. 47.

Manic! 08-28-2025 10:46 AM

All Americans are to blame for trump because they did not do enough to stop him.

Badhobz 08-28-2025 10:53 AM

^not all, half.. half of the americans are retarded. the other half just had to go along with it.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/...s-did-not-vote

The 2024 US presidential election had been widely characterized as one of the most consequential political contests in recent US history. Although turnout was high for a presidential election – almost matching the levels of 2020 – it is estimated that close to 90 million Americans, roughly 36% of the eligible voting age population, did not vote. This number is greater than the number of people who voted for either Donald Trump or Kamala Harris.

Millions of Americans did not even vote in the last presidential election.

Apathy?

To the Americans who did not vote in the last election:

Don't bitch and complain about Trump! You didn't even have a voice in the outcome of the election because you did not exercise your right to vote.

Too bad so sad.

Ah ok. My aunt (my cousin's mom) has been a hardcore Trump supporter since he first ran 9 years ago and my uncle in Calgary is a member of the Conservative Party and a relative hard liner while my fairly simple minded dad gets easily bought into what his two siblings say so he's become a bit of a nut too.

As a result there's a big divide in the family where us "kids" are all Liberals or Socialists of some form (ranging from centre-right to hard left) while the parents buy into conspiracy theories such as Obama being a Muslims and immigrants get free money from the gov't.

My California cousins (all of whom hate Trump) have trouble having civilised discussions with their mom as a result of her hard line views though unconfirmed rumours are that she may have finally given up on Trump.

Shooter in Minneapolis:

https://i.redd.it/rspj42o9onlf1.jpeg

Always a pattern in the type of person these guys are, guess what is it.

Dude was also racist and antisemitic, but also trans? The fuck?

Another key detail, which is one I've brought up numerous times on this forum -- He purchased his guns a week before the shooting. Anyone who ever says gun restrictions are a waste of time "because guns are already out there" is a fucking idiot.

The VAST majority of these shootings are with guns purchased within a month of the shootings themselves. Literally any logical version of a background check could stop a lot of these instances from happening.

Fucking retarded country the US is.

westopher 08-28-2025 02:42 PM

99% of these shootings are with legally purchased weapons. Anyone who says further restrictions won’t drastically cut it down is fucking dumb as fuck.
This happens so often in the US, if it isn’t your kid or family member, does the average person even notice it anymore?

The Democrats under President Clinton passed a federal law banning assault weapons in 1994.

https://abcnews.go.com/US/understand...ry?id=65546858

The article mentions that stats on violent crimes showed a decrease of 17 percent in the U.S. following the assault weapons ban.

Could we see the American government put forth another assault weapons ban? I highly doubt this will happen under a Trump presidency.

Fat Orange does not want to incite protests from his Republican supporters. Does Cheeto want to risk losing voter support among his gun loving voter base for him and Republicans?

The gun lobbyists are powerful. There is too much skin in the game, too much money to be made among manufacturers in making and selling assault weapons in the U.S. We are talking about a multi-billion dollar industry.

Would an increase in background checks or more detailed background checks work to restrict the use of assault rifles in the U.S? Perhaps.
Again, I just do not see more background checks on gun buyers happening under a Trump presidency.

The shooting happened in a church, and in a call for action, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey said:

He revokes Secret Service protection for Kamala Harris.

You can't help but wonder... what if something bad happens to Kamala now that secret service protection is gone?

I assume that’s the goal here.

https://www.cnn.com/2025/08/29/polit...00-venezuelans

A federal appeals court on Friday blocked the Trump administration’s plans to end protections for 600,000 people from Venezuela who have had permission to live and work in the United States.

A three-judge panel of the 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals unanimously upheld a lower court ruling that maintained temporary protected status for Venezuelans while the case proceeded through court

The 9th Circuit judges found that plaintiffs were likely to succeed on their claim that Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem had no authority to vacate or set aside a prior extension of temporary protected status because the governing statute written by Congress does not permit it. Then-President Joe Biden’s Democratic administration had extended temporary protected status for people from Venezuela.

This news article is significant in that it has an impact on one of my extended family members living in the U.S.

As per previous posts on this thread, you guys may know that I have American cousins, an aunt, uncle, nieces, and nephews living in California, Arizona, and New York.

A few of my cousins are half Hispanic. This cousin living in NYC was born in Venezuela. She lives with her bf in NYC.

She has a work permit to be able to live and work in the U.S.
She has lived in NYC for eight years. She does not have a green card for permanent residency.

Orange Turd wants to remove her protected status and deport her back to the hellhole Venezuela! :flamemad:

I hope that the ruling of the U.S. Federal Court of Appeals to block Cheeto's plan to end protection of Venezuela born residents holds up.

Only idiots or racists would have ever denied that.

I seriously hope for the best for your cousin as well as other migrants that have contributed themselves to their community.

On the other hand as I have mentioned in another thread, Trump is probably not particularly fazed by the rulings that happen at the lower courts because he still has his trump card up in the POS SCOTUS. So far in his term, he has repeatedly shown that he is deliberately creating these situations where court challenges get taken up to the SCOTUS. He doesn't always win the fights at SCOTUS, but I seem to think that he has won more often than he has lost at that level, and thru the SCOTUS rulings, he is effectively re-writing the American Constitution without actually having to go thru the normal channel to amend it.

It is extremely infuriating, and I have no idea how those conservative SCOTUS judges can live with themselves. Fīat iūstitia ruat cælum -- Let justice be done though the heavens fall? Those bastards may think they are just following this principle, when in fact they are the very accomplices that are handing the US to this Orange devil.
