Marco Rubio is the quintessential hollowed out politician that stands for absolutely nothing but himself. A Grade-A piece of shit through and through, almost ghoulish in his ability to throw away any morals and ethics, or self-respect.

He's the other reason Venezuela has become the focus. Like the Cubans, there are a large electorate of Conservative Venezuelans that live in Florida, this is an appeasement to that particular base, and strengthens Rubio's position in the state for senator, which I wouldn't be surprised he'll run for again after this dumpster fire of an administration.

Florida Cubans basically doomed the world to this dystopian hellscape in Nov 2000.

mikemhg 12-03-2025 10:56 AM

Florida Cubans take the run for the most trash people imaginable.

They are mostly white/European Cubans that gleefully continue to push the established embargo as their "darker" countrymen suffer back home in squalor.

Trump just appeased further to these evil pricks by closing asylum recently from both Cuba and Venezuala:

https://www.whitehouse.gov/president...afety-threats/

They are the typical "I got mine, so fuck you" trope.

Trump pardons another piece of shit:

I remember this guy particularly when I was living in San Antonio, a true corrupt asshole. I guarantee he'll also flip parties as a condition of this pardon, giving another seat to the Republican Party in Texas.

These guys are showing they could give a fuck about white-collar crime, masks are fully off now.

Which part was fake, him getting grazed, or the dude in the crowd who died? Or all of it? Genuinely curious.

westopher 12-03-2025 11:54 AM

Him getting grazed is 100% fake. Blood doesn’t splatter the opposite way of the bullet. Also, ear cartilage doesn’t grow back.

68style 12-03-2025 12:04 PM

I'm on a LOT of bandwagons against Trump, but I'm not totally sure I'm on the fake shooting bandwagon... I believe the records showed he had a plastic surgery procedure shortly thereafter.

I didn't look into it toooooooooo much though because I figured most of it is all misinformation.

So it was staged by Trump with someone actually getting shot instead, and then covered up? Why bother using a real gun if you're going full WWE with the blood on Trump?

Badhobz 12-03-2025 12:17 PM

Whatever. I still blame that dead kid. Idiot played too many video games. Just aim for center mass you clown

Why not? Trumps loser fanbase is willing to die for the cause. It’s not like they’d care about sacrificing someone.
You think he wouldn’t be sucking his own dick at every single press conference about taking a bullet for America if it actually happened?
Also it’s a bit too convenient the guy standing beside Kirk when he was shot is the same guy standing beside trump when he was shot.

unit 12-03-2025 01:03 PM

ok if a few bystanders died, i didnt know that... it probably debunks my theory, however some things are extremely weird about how things went down that day:

-shooter takes his shots, crowd barely flinches.. nobody scatters like they do in other mass shooting events, they stay seated just looking around even though they are in the line of fire.
-SS doesnt evacuate trump immediately, he is covered by some and then it takes them over a minute to get him off the stage, standing up where he is in the line of fire from another shot. i suppose they felt the target was neutralized enough to let him walk off, but it still feels very sloppy.
-SS should have never let that shot happen.. there were hardly any buildings around the stage and the snipers only had to cover a few rooftops, yet they still fucked that up.
-trumps ear is like 100% normal just a few weeks later, even in extreme closeups.
-photographers were practically directed around the stage to get their shots in, it looked super orchestrated.

Badhobz 12-03-2025 01:06 PM

Whatever camera this guy uses, I want it. It makes this geezer look like an actual human being instead of the usual overblown saturation the rest of his portraits are.

Sorry but you're sounding a bit like the guys you normally make fun of for this conspiracy stuff lol

westopher 12-03-2025 02:01 PM

Yeah I mean a cabinet full of WWE execs and an ear that wasn’t damaged from a sniper rifle sure doesn’t paint a picture. This guy is a career liar.
You can believe some things are fake while still believing other things are real. You don’t have to pick zero conspiracy theories or all of them.

Sucks for dudes named Mohammed but I'm assuming for the average traveler it won't even come up.

unit 12-10-2025 12:14 PM

i havent stepped foot there all year and don't really intend to for a long time either.

whitev70r 12-10-2025 12:17 PM

Me neither, haven't gone since Nov 2024 ... I kinda missed going to Blaine and Bellingham for Border Tacos. And old Fairhaven Bellingham.

unit 12-10-2025 12:28 PM

even despite the trump stuff, the dollar is so bad and inflation has hit the US now too, it's not even worth going there anyway. back in the day eating in the states was so cheap. now the prices are like here plus exchange.

The U.S. has seized an oil tanker off the coast of Venezuela, three officials told Reuters on Wednesday, a move that raised oil prices and is likely to further inflame tensions between Washington and Caracas.

U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed on Wednesday that his administration has seized an oil tanker off the coast of Venezuela.

Trump has ordered a massive U.S. military build-up in the region, including an aircraft carrier, fighter jets and tens of thousands of troops.

The officials, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said the operation was led by the U.S. Coast Guard. They did not name the tanker, which country’s flag it was flying or exactly where the interdiction took place.

Oil futures rose following news of the seizure, after trading in negative territory earlier in the day. Global Brent crude futures LCOc1 were trading at US$62.35 a barrel, up 41 cents, at 2:32 p.m. ET, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate futures CLc1 settled up 21 cents at $58.46 a barrel.

The U.S. Coast Guard referred questions to the White House, which did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The Venezuelan government did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Venezuela exported more than 900,000 barrels per day (bpd) of oil last month, the third-highest monthly average so far this year, as state-run company PDVSA imported more naphtha to dilute its extra heavy oil output. Even amid increasing pressure over Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, Washington had not moved to interfere with the country’s oil flows.

Oil exports are Venezuela’s main source of revenue. The country has had to deeply discount its crude in its main buyer, China, due to growing competition with sanctioned oil from Russia and Iran.

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has alleged that the U.S. military build-up off Venezuela is aimed at overthrowing him and gaining control of the OPEC nation’s vast oil reserves.

Trump has repeatedly raised the possibility of U.S. military intervention in Venezuela.

I've never really had any major desire to go the US anyways. In the past 20 years, I've only ever travelled to the USA once for personal reasons, and that was because we originally planned to go camping, but we found out my wife was pregnant and the weather was going to be shitty that week. So we took a drive down through the Oregon coast instead.

My trips to Houston, Austin, Vegas (x2), San Francisco, New York have otherwise all been work trips.
Now I'm going to even avoid doing those...

westopher 12-10-2025 02:20 PM

I just go down for concerts and mt baker. Instead I’ll just go to Toronto or Montreal for the really important shows and spend way more money, or do some revy trips instead of baker. Fuck the US.

spoon.ek9 12-10-2025 03:02 PM

Past 20 years:

1. Bellingham and surrounding areas
2. Seattle
3. Portland
4. San Diego

That's it.

I've also never had any strong desire to explore more of the US. Now I am good without visiting at all for bare minimum 5 years, probably longer. I was saying at a recent dinner that it isn't just because of tariffs or whatever, it's mainly the disrespect toward our country. I won't give them a damn cent if I can help it.
