Edit: ^ beat me to it, double post |
and the latest -- the news story from PCA CWR. Don't think I can embed the video here, but follow the link and you will see. https://www.citynews1130.com/video/2...eing-targeted/ Thank you, Kevin and Sherlock, for stepping up and willingly coming under the spot light to draw attention to the problem. [edit] LOL the moment this came out, and several of us all posted the same thing~! |
Nice professional representation. That's exactly what we need. Great job |

that was actually commendable do none of the VPD higher ups own mid-higher end sports cars? probably takes the traffic unit to VI one of them to accelerate amendments |
they won't VI one of their own. |
Although a lot of heat is going toward "VPD" as a whole... from what limited sources we have from people with friends in the VPD, it sounds like majority of them aren't on board with this whole VI movement. So while putting some pressure on the VPD is great, hopefully the next step is to shine the spotlight specifically on the two (or three?) officers who seem to be spearheading this whole thing. They're making the rest of VPD look like a joke. SGT. Roed's response in the video was very typical and I wouldn't expect him to call out his own in public. But hopefully this is a good starting point anyhow. |

Glad to see more exposure and a big thank you to those who stepped up, including people contributing in the background. Quote:
VPD should lend out one of their motorcycles for comparison. Quote:
Any supervisor(s) allowing this to continue should be held accountable as well. |

especially if their media spokespersons defended them twice |
Good video, hopefully with enough media pressure, the head of their VPD traffic unit will become annoyed at all the media spotlight and public interviews and tell these traffic cops to focus on more credible MVA violations. |
VPD will never be able to justify why the DB sound level of these two officers is significantly tested higher than a qualified trained technician, not even remotely close at all in the numbers. Also unable to justify why the past year VI have gone up significantly compared to prior years. This MVA and safety thing is absolute bullshit because as some of you guys mentioned, there are supercars out there bone stock not getting VI-ed, those loud too (the team out at Driven Project). Plus VPD in other jurisdictions makes no sense unless you are attending a case/chasing a suspect into those areas, why are they handing violations in RCMP territory? Just gotta keep pushing this with media. |

Glad to see Jeremy Schaab, Jeremy Schaab, GM Porsche Vancouver, interviewed, too - but we just heard from him that there was one important point he made that didn’t make the interview, educating sports car owners on their rights when stopped on the roadside. Here it is: "I understand that some officers put their dB Meter right against or inside the tailpipe. This is not accurate and generates a dB rating 20% higher than the law. Officers must place their dB meter 3M behind at a 45 deg angle from the tailpipe and the engine is to be revved to 3500rpm." I’m so glad to see the news covering this and Jer as a GM standing up for us too! Wish they touched on a little more, but at least it’s a start Now if only they could touch on the vindictive nature from Constable Cain and his vendetta against car enthusiasts, or the fact a STOCK press car belonging to a luxury manufacturer’s fleet was deemed too loud and given a vi + excessive noise ticket |
^3 meters? as much as i'd like that to be true, that doesn't sound right....it should be 20 inches from the pipe opening i thought |
I mean, it could make sense. It’s how the noise affects bystanders as the reason for the rule. If you’re less than 3m from a cars exhaust at 3000 rpm, what are you doing there? |

Makes sense to me. If you're 20 inches from the car its probably stopped/slowing down. at 3m it should mean its just driving by at roughly 3k rpm under normal conditions. |
Driving down the road? Walking down the sidewalk? 3m/10ft is quite a ways away. |
|
Lol. Cutting out the middleman. Just go straight to the dealerships and Issue the VI there. Better give them a no front plate, and no insurance ticket while your at it. Berz out. |
