Not gonna lie, I wouldn't do this all the time but the big V8s in the E63, Mustang, and Charger got me in the mood to do this pretty often in a way that the 4 and 6 cyls never did.

I agree with this. In addition to the VI issue and many other things, my family have had the worst experience with VPD when my dad got assaulted. The officer literally went on holiday and by the time he got back, the video evidence got overwritten. Or any other time you call in for a car break-in, the VPD won’t do anything, let alone come to the site. The building on Graveley is a joke; closes early on weekends as well.

On the other hand, the North Vancouver RCMP are the warmest officers that i’ve met and worked with. They actually do their job well.

I get that there are bad apples everywhere and corporations always have to cover for them but it’s fucking enough to see them lying with their eyes wide open

Wasn't the Richmond RCMP going VI crazy last year?

Nope. Been driving modified cars in richmond my whole life. Any VI’s given out would have been justified

There are several examples over the years from various people's encounters with Richmond RCMP, including my own, showing them as the friendliest, possibly most car-friendly group of officers in Metro Vancouver. If you get a VI in Richmond, it means you definitely 100% deserve one.

I remember RCMP richmond was cracking down on modded cars in the early -mid 2000s after one of their constables were killed by street racers right on no.3 rd.... when GD STi first came out, they were given exhaust tickets for stock ehxuast :lawl:

man... that was a long time ago.

SkunkWorks 03-09-2020 05:03 AM

RIP Cst. Jimmy Ng.

I can understand the VI blitz back then. Street racing was at an all time high. He was not the only innocent life to be taken by something so senseless and meaningless. They had to respond to show that that was NOT ok.

The difference today? The same blitz is happening because of an (alleged) kid mouthing off a traffic officer.

lol, how do you imagine you could do $3million worth of damage to anything on a Vespa (besides your dignity)?

bcrdukes 03-09-2020 07:09 AM

I don't recall Richmond RCMP ever being blood thirsty in recent years. Like the others have said, if anyone did get a VI in Richmond, it's because it was deserved in such a way that it was actually safety related.

There used to be unofficial RS Stock and Noob meets at Ironwood Plaza on Thursdays during the summer which isn't far from the RCMP HQ for Richmond. Off-duty police officers would often swing by to chat with people, and it was appreciated by all. I would say overall, there wasn't much in terms of heaty cars or clowns doing burnouts. Everyone just showed up in their cars, grabbed a coffee, and drove away like normal people.

Yes but don't mod it by changing exhaust or getting bigger bore kit.

Surrey is planning to create it's own VPD inspired police force.

Prepare for VIs :lawl:

I was stopped for speeding by Richmond RCMP and it was me being stupid. He actually only gave me a warning which surprised the hell out of me.

The other time, the Richmond RCMP gave me a ticket for front tinted windows, but I didn't have front window tint. I had rear tint which I guess made the front look darker. He only gave me a ticket and no VI or anything. I contacted the officer after getting a letter from Mazda stating the car's front window come like that. Officer agreed to meet me and bring his boss who schooled him on how to check for aftermarket film tint. Got ticket cancelled.

So for me, Richmond RCMP have been very nice to me. Also, both officers were actually very courteous and nice when talking with me.

tofu1413 03-09-2020 09:14 AM

Yeah, I got pulled over by Richmond RCMP before when i had my yellow integra R way back. Yellow car, 3 dudes, Apexi N1 fart can and a N sign driving by Lansdowne mall at 2am....

got pulled over for the "N sign" vinyl (said No fat chicks)

Cop pulled me over, said nice N sign, but need to use real one and slapped an actual one onto my car. He had an extra in his cruiser.

I was the dd that night, so I had to drive an extra drunk ass friend home. Cop was cool with that though, said Drive safe and get his drunk ass home.

No tickets, just a verbal warning for N sign.

Good times.

I got pulled for speeding in Richmond with my Greddy canned (at the time) MR2 and he said he heard me before he saw me, stuck his foot in my exhaust to highlight how big it was and asked me if it was stock and I said I wasn’t sure and he made a face and then came back and just told me I had a good history, just slow down, no ticket or nothing despite the fact I probably deserved a couple lol

The thing tho is I thought about it and realized I’d probably been getting away with some pretty aggressive driving for awhile and I slowed down! Look at that you can learn a lesson without a thousand bucks in fines. Funny that. Proactive policing much?

SumAznGuy 03-09-2020 02:03 PM

I remember when I had my Sentra SER. All I had was an intake and stock exhaust. Going up Rupert, there was a cop parked on 22nd ave and he gave me a warning for speeding because he could hear me way before he saw me. lol.

The north end of Oak St coming from W 6th Ave towards Broadway....
Thank goodness they got rid of the 4-way stop at 7th Ave but you’ll probably have to stop for cyclists anyway
