If I were to be a libertarian, I’d oppose any government intervention, which I DON’T. Those ducked up lefties who want to defund the police are libertarians.
What I don’t agree is that liberals just hand out money instead of taking the time to understand what they need to live a life with less resistance from their struggles.
That’s why I turned conservative. Because at least with traditional values like family or religion, one can find some meaningful focus
And I despise lefties like Dems or Libs because they just take the easiest way to get votes. However, I don’t elect politicians so they can have an easy way out, but rather what’s right.
Obama had 8yrs, Trudeau had his time too and for all those years, they did nothing. China was taking jobs from American, and Canadians, they did nothing. Chinese RE speculators are pricing most regular Joes out of the city they were born and bred, they did nothing. BLM had its time under Obama and they did nothing.
Now they have the audacity to ask for change?
As fucked up as Trump is, at least the reps are doing something. Something that our future gen can benefit from. What do you get with lefty dems or libs? A lot of nice talk with 0 substance and a balloon of debt that out future gen is going to suffer from.

That's the one thing that I like about Trump. As fucked up as he is, he's the one person who stands up against Chainah......... It's Chai Nah. Chai nah........
Everyone else does nothing and actually in bed with the CCP. It's really too bad he's such a tool.

My wife works with kids with developmental disabilities and I've volunteered my share of time to work with them.
What did the lib do to BC? Not even at fed level, just our prov gov't.
They prop up RE prices to fund pitty money campaign to those in need as way to BUY their freaking votes. I feel sad as a person who call GVR home not because what's happening to me... I live a modest and comfortable life, even though that comes from working my butts off. I'm talking about those around me, many who I call friends. They struggle between picking the place they want vs. how much gas they need to put in their car for commute. That's how fucked up our RE pricing is.
And now we have an election coming... the best campaign strategy libs can come up with? Removing the speculator tax.
Libs are all about sweettalking... let's help the poor, let's help the unfortunates... etc It's to address that GUILT that you have deep down being somewhat a privileged person.

I love how he doesn't put forward what services would be cut to accommodate the budgetary shortfall of such a move. | This is a part where we can agree on. It's about being responsible. When we are doing things at gov't level, be it subsidies, tax cuts... etc. It's all about what the potential consequences that ensue.
If we are going to hand out money, we also have to have plan in place how to recoup those money from, instead of just leaving it for our future generation to worry about.
CoVid happened in our time... tough luck... it's OUR responsibility to take the consequences. Not doing something so that we can live ok, but our future gen would be miserable.

It was a stupid idea for NDP to eliminate tolls on Port Mann ... so pre-Covid, it became a parking lot during rush hours, less people taking transit ... got them some votes.

Do you know what the Pattullo and the nearby area in NW was like when the Port Mann was still tolled? Along Royal, it starts to get busy at 2:30pm or so, and becomes jam packed all the way past Eight Street by 3:30pm
Tolling just the Port Mann doesn't work well enough because people will just find alternative routes that don't have tolls. If the Mayor's Council really wants to control / reduce vehicular traffic, they need to look at simultaneously tolling all bridges / crossings in Metro Vancouver. But of course, doing this while the COVID is still raging is a bad, bad, BAD idea.

The only way I would consider voting for Andrew Wilkinson's Liberals is if he puts the Massey Tunnel/Bridge replacement back on the table with all the previously planned upgrades to Hwy 99.
So far no word.

I mean, with the PST cut proposal only lasting a year, and him only saying that the difference would by made up by cutting "not education and healthcare", I doubt that infrastructure is going to be high on the list unless he has some buddies lined up to tender the project for cheap.

The whole eliminating PST promise seems like a last ditch effort for some votes to win.

To be fair I'm not one of the people being hit hard by tolls either, I probably paid it 20 times on either Golden Ears or Port Mann when they were in place.
The PST thing is weird, not sure this is the right time to be cutting that.
