“J.T. Miller was a guy we targeted that we felt could come in and help our group,” Benning said after selecting eight prospects on Day 2 of the entry draft at Rogers Arena. “It’s a fair price to pay for a young — relatively young — player that fits in with what we’re trying to do. He’s on a good contract. He plays with an edge, he’s got skill. He’s a guy that we feel is going to really help make the team better and help with the development of our younger players.”

SkinnyPupp 08-17-2020 08:12 PM

I guess if you're going to get called for everything, might as well make it worthwhile

bobbinka 08-17-2020 08:16 PM

exactly what I was about to post. St. Louis were looking beyond the canucks. The Canucks poked them and here we are. I doubt canucks are gonna get more than two wins.

Outclassed.

Proud of our guys, though.

St. Louis has a few more gears left and the Canucks are out of gas.

This isn't very different to my eyes than G2 and G3. Just that they are capitalizing on the PP now. Blues are a much better team, not that the Canucks can't win. They just need to rely on weird things happening.

First game was a bit different

Ch28 08-17-2020 08:23 PM

Kelly Sutherland is such an inept piece of shit

bobbinka 08-17-2020 08:24 PM

Capitalizing on the refs, you mean

WD-40 08-17-2020 08:24 PM

yup

canucks overachieved and the planets lined up, the first two games.

Still not over - it ain't over till it's over. Stranger things have happened.

He's from BC. Richmond?

SkinnyPupp 08-17-2020 08:28 PM

I can see why they called the roughing on goaltender, as it was obvious retaliation on them poking at Markstrom's glove. They needed to cut it off or it would just escalate from there

And the boarding call, don't tell me you have a problem with that? If anything he's lucky not to be ejected

Edler's first tripping call was easy too, he was caught and had to stick a leg out to prevent a 2 on 1 short handed

68style 08-17-2020 08:30 PM

Trip on the Blues PP for our dman trying to go to the corner to clear it? Nope

Interference on Horvat at centre? Nope

Soooo many

The boarding call was fine. I don’t think anyone is complaining about that one.

Markstrom has been run a few times with no calls including O’Reilly checking Edler (without the puck) into Markstrom near the end of the 1st. Markstrom was giving it to the refs at the end of the 1st. The first time the Canucks go hard at the goalie (not even as hard as STL has been), they get penalized.

SkinnyPupp 08-17-2020 08:55 PM

Damn that Pettersson shot was a laser, hit the knob of the goalie's stick and knocked it out his hand PogChamp

WD-40 08-17-2020 09:03 PM

Dunn, Da Dunn Dunn Da!!!!!

mb_ 08-17-2020 09:05 PM

PP has been a flat line this game
