Demko is the man. 4 in a row boys. |
Plan the parade! |
Let’s not get ahead of ourselves but it’s nice to see a road win against a great team. We have enough new players I figured it’d take a few games for them to start playing like a team. Pre-season and practices just don’t cut it. For me, Demko looking more comfortable out there is the biggest positive. It would be great for him to challenge Markstrom for the number one spot at some point this season. |
if they truly intend on making the playoffs, both goaltenders will absolutely have to be on top of their game. Demko looks good for sure. Gave up a few, didn't seem to lose any confidence or show signs of panicking. Hell, the whole team pulled together tonight. Great to see! You know it's a good game when your heart is racing :D |
Hughes may finally be that number 1 dman we’ve been waiting so long for |
I hope you’re right. Just too bad he’s 5’10 and may never become as intimidating as defensively as he might be offensively. To me a legit 1A dman is scary on both sides of the redline. As much as I like him, I don’t see him stopping guys like Ovi in his tracks and making them second guess charging the net. Maybe I’m old school but he sure is impressive and poised for a rookie. That said the bar is fairly low to become a #1 dman for the Canucks.. sadly lol |

Lol Horvat super excited to win the game, whereas the stoic Swede Pettersen has no reaction... |

Ya.. the puck rolled on him at the last second it looked like. Demko was a STUD last night and showed fantastic poise in the shootout. I did think St. Louis exposed Vancouver though on their defensive play when the game opened up - many odd man rushes for St. Louis where they continuously hit F3 or the Dman entering the zone off the rush for high quality scoring chances. I'm sure they will try to clean that up but I was impressed with the Canucks ability to run and gun with the best and commented to my buddy that Willie would have locked the game right down, so it was really nice to see last night's game play out the way it did. Looks like it's fun to be a Canuck right now for the players which is fantastic. |
What impressed me the most about this team is their grit and resilience in the game vs. St. Louis. A comeback win in a sixth round shootout after trailing 3-1 against the defending champs is no easy task. Demko stood on his head, especially in the shootout, to give his team a chance to tie the game and win it in the SO. On to New Jersey and New York! -gonna be interesting to see Quinn play against his brother Jack on Saturday. I wonder if coach Green will put Quinn on the ice against his brother during the game. Quinn may know his brother's game so well that he knows how to defend against Jack. |

Is ok, I'm not worried. Both goalies played amazing. Demko had no chance on that PPG. |
only watched the highlights, but why did blackwood toss his helmet? also, that edler hit did not look like it should've been a penalty. |
