Loui Eriksson said he didn't mean to disrespect Travis Green with offseason comments he and the Vancouver Canucks coach "don't really get along 100 percent."

The 34-year-old forward, who has three years left on a six-year contract with an average annual value of $6 million, spoke to media here Wednesday for the first time since telling Swedish website hockeysverige.se in May that he doesn't "get the same trust from Green" as previous coaches and expressed concerns about his role and lack of offensive opportunity.

"I think it got overblown a little bit, it's nothing to disrespect the coach," Eriksson said. "All I did was being honest, and me and Travis have talked about it and I think we are on the same page."

"I have a lot of respect for Travis and think he's a good coach, it was just a question I got from the Swedish newspaper, they asked about my production in Sweden, it's been so good and I had a record there, and I was trying to be honest with my answer and it hasn't been the same in Vancouver," Eriksson said. "It got overblown."

"It's a little bit about confidence too; if you feel good, you play better," he said. "It depends what role you have on the team too, and where you play and that's what I was trying to explain. When I played in top minutes and power play you get more chances to produce and I have always been a player that plays a good defensive two-way game and if I don't produce, I can help the team in different ways, to play good defense and be a shutdown winger."

"I don't know really what's going on behind the scenes, but it hasn't been working out the way it should have been in Vancouver for me," Eriksson said.

His side of the story doesn't matter, he held the Canucks hostage and is a piece of shit for doing that...

spoon.ek9 09-12-2019 06:25 PM

yeah, I haven't seen or heard of anything about Kesler. Don't get me wrong too, I appreciated all he did for our team. He was just... a talented asshole.

Just purchased my ticket for Sedins jersey retirement game today! February can't come soon enough now

SuperAman 09-14-2019 12:14 AM

So Marner signed with Toronto tonight average 10.893 million for 6 years.
Rumour has it that Brock refused a 7mil 6yr deal just recently.
I see 8.6 for Brock, he hasn't even come close to 94 points, like Marner

I thought the 7mil range isn’t the problem. I thought I read somewhere it’s the term. He wants a shorter contract and Benning wants to lock him up longer term.

Fucking Jake, clearly isn’t a professional. When you’re rookie in EP goes into the summer and is leading the bag skates etc. he obviously put in the work and effort.

JV should have been focusing purely on conditioning and now he’s in the dog house again? Ffs

mb_ 09-14-2019 07:27 AM

Was wondering why he was listed in the 3rd group. Jake taking his chances in the NHL for granted, hope he gets his shit together sooner rather than later because I believe he can be a good player but he's gotta put work in like he wants it

punkwax 09-14-2019 07:53 AM

Green set goals for Virtanen that he agreed to. He didn’t meet those goals.. https://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/...-canucks-camp/

Didn’t Hutton and jake share the same trainer. That guy gonna be out of business soon. Lol

Maybe the Canucks should flip jv for pool party lol

As of right now, it looks like EP and Heiskanen are going to be the best players of their draft. Makar also looks like he's gonna be a stud.

Heard some rumours (and that’s all they are so who knows about validity) that Jakey spent most of his summer at the casino...

He was back with the 2nd group today and scored on a breakaway
