^^ Yes, that Vokoun Ballard one is the worst but you get broken sticks flying any and which way. Here is a near miss:

Plus, c'mon, you got beat 3 on 0 by NHL players ... it's not your fault. Sh*t happens, get a control on your emotions. So your anger is directed toward your team mates? Not good on that level either. Just laugh it off, team made out like a bandit with one point.

blkgsr 11-06-2019 10:48 AM

have you even played a competitive sport?

Competitions and emotions go hand in hand

Are you kidding me. I would be pissed. That shows he fucking cares. I love that. I play sports and yes emotions go hand in hand. If my teammate fucks up than you let him know and you give him props if he makes a awesome play. Marky wanted to stop that.

This team hates losing and they show it. They wanted to win. You want to see that in the team.

exactly!

Really, some of you would be real great team mates to play with!

Tell me a little bit about Gretzsky's, Cosby's, or McDavid's emotions and how they smash sticks all the time. Tell me about Kawhi who was known for controlling his emotions on the court. This isn't beer league hockey.

:rukidding:

As a fan I loved that Marky was pissed. You clearly know nothing of watching or playing sports. Intensity and emotion go hand in hand. Did you expect them to be robots and not have tears when they lose a game 7 or win it. C'mon now

whitev70r 11-06-2019 04:31 PM

No one said that intensity, emotion, and passion isn't part of the game. The point was that you have to manage it on the ice or on the court and in this case ... refrain from smashing your stick and unintentionally injuring another player on the ice.

So let's boil it down, do you think an athlete has to control his/her anger in a game and refrain from possibly injuring another player? Yes or no?

With that I'll go radio silent on this.

^Arent we talking about hockey where the players hit each other and play on edge and sometimes most of them play better when there angry..........

Funny how u bring up Gretzkys and Crosbys emotions when they are notoriously the 2 biggest whiners to ever play the game.

its not like the guy has an abusive history or anger issues..how many times have you seen Marky smash his stick like that? it's fine once in awhile...it's part of the game...would you rather them not show any frustration or pushback and just get pushed around ala 2011 Finals w/Boston? People lose it once in awhile...its a good thing for the sport and for the player individually...its not like he hurt anyone

I was pretty pumped to see on the 3 on 0 when St. Louis entered the zone... Markstrom banged his goalie stick on the ice and was like "BRING IT" haha I mean obviously it didn't work out for him in the end, but that attitude was amazing... love that fire! Smashing the stick wasn't an insult to his teammates at all... it was him being mad he didn't stop it cuz he really wanted to.

What sport are you watching???? In one sentence you say intensity and emotion is part of the game and in another you say you need to control it. Hockey is all about the ever changing tide of momentum. The emotion in the arena. The reaction of an amazing goal or save. Emotion creates passion and intensity. Did you see Marky bang his goal stick as the 3-0 was coming in? Thats called intensity and commitment. And than you saw him break his stick cause he was pissed he didn't make the save.

You have a lot to learn about sports.

6thGear. 11-07-2019 09:36 AM

Don't mean to break up the sports intensity debate here but if anyone's interested I need to get rid of a pair of tickets as I'm on vacation next week.

Tue Nov 12 Nashville$

SEC306$
ROW12$
SEATS111/112$

$95 for the pair

MG1 11-07-2019 11:00 AM

Can you imagine if Markstrom had made a save in that 3 on 0?

We would be seeing the replay in plays of the year.

bobbinka 11-07-2019 12:06 PM

If 3 players on the bench immediately jumped onto the ice to defend, while the other 3 were trapped, what's the worst that could happen? Itd just be a too many men penalty. But at least we wouldve had a chance to defend. Surely, that wouldve been the best option, no??

68style 11-07-2019 12:10 PM

^
As far as I can tell in the NHL rule book, Rule 68.3, a penalty shot would be awarded if a team placed extra players on the ice to negate a scoring opportunity when there is no one else between the opposition player and the net.

Much better odds of stopping a penalty shot than a 3 on 0 I suppose, so it would have been a good move strategically............. however, your team would live in YouTube infamy/shame for the rest of time from a sportsmanship perspective

bobbinka 11-07-2019 12:36 PM

Goalie throws mask off?

Same result.

Rule 9.6:

When a goalkeeper deliberately removes his helmet and/or face mask in order to secure a stoppage of play, the Referee shall stop play as outlined above and, in this case, assess the goalkeeper a minor penalty for delaying the game. If the goalkeeper deliberately removes his helmet and/or face mask when the opposing team is on a breakaway, the Referee shall award a penalty shot to the non-offending team, which shot shall be taken by the player last in possession of the puck. If the goalkeeper deliberately removes his helmet and/or face mask during the course of a penalty shot or shootout attempt, the Referee shall award a goal to the non-offending team.

bobbinka 11-07-2019 01:11 PM

If he saves the penalty shot, and we won the game, he would've been a hero.

MG1 11-07-2019 04:36 PM

Jesus Christ, that guy is just awesome............. he puts his all into singing the anthems. Then, steps it up for the Star Mangled Banner.

god bless america

punkwax 11-07-2019 05:07 PM

That Debrincat goal will make the highlight reels.

spoon.ek9 11-07-2019 05:32 PM

Razor Ramon HG 11-07-2019 05:53 PM
