Assassins Creed games will always do well, even the crappy ones have a really big following. AC Mirage was a big hit, so there's high confidence. The big reason this latest one got delayed, and it was understood, that they are re writing the dialogue due to new information on the supposed black samurai (did not really exist, source material is all from one person who made it up).

i have a series x and was thinking of setting a ps5 but held back b/c i didn't think there'd be enough titles for me to want.

i don't think i'll be getting a next gen system. feels like i'm better off just getting a gaming PC for my next upgrade.

I’ve been in and out on CoD over the years but I’ll give Activision credit for Warzone, for a free game, it’s definitely taken the top online FPS title for me, I played a tonne of CS etc. but playing with 2-3 friends on Warzone is a pretty great gaming experience. Before a couple of my buddies had kids we could play for 8+ hours on weekends straight and not really get tired of it

I don't play enough to justify upgrading, I'd think about it if my current PS5 crapped out I guess. If you play everyday then at least you'd be getting your money's worth out of it, it sounds like a decent upgrade.

I'm getting as PS5 Pro, because I kinda have to at this point.

I brought my PS5 down to Texas here while staying for the next 3 months, Gamestop had a great trade in deal, they gave me $300 USD cash for my PS5, which is more than what it even sells for privately in Canada.

So I essentially need a new PS at this point, the Pro it is.

As for GLOW's comment about media and games nowadays, I think we're just seeing the afterblast of our educational institutions and culture being reflected on modern writing. The old dudes that wrote the stories and screenplays for movies and games we reminisce over are all retired or gone. We're now seeing the writing styles and ideas of the newer generation, and unfortunately it's crap, it's no coincidence all these "agenda" minded games are receiving damning reviews and negative public perception.

I think it'll take time for all this crap to wash out, but it will eventually IMHO.

It's too "woke" -- I hate using that word for this subject by the way, because it's wrong, the word woke has been co-opted from its original meaning, which bugs the shit out of me.

There's too much in film and games nowadays where it's pretty clear an ideology is being written into the overall framework. I'm not a tinfoil hat where I think it's some overarching "agenda", and I'm all for representation, but when it's heavy handed it becomes quite obvious.

When you have the added gay and/or lesbian couple, trans person, diversity character of every main cultural origin all written into a story narrative, it comes off as fake, and non-immersive.

Clearly no PS5 Pro stock issues like the PS5 launch, mine arrived yesterday.

i think they were touting ~50% speed increase over a ps5, i wonder if it's even noticeable.

if there's no supply chain issues i wonder if it's due to the steep price tag.

Seems kinda pointless if you can’t render older games at higher qualities because the amount of AAA games going forward that could utilize the hardware seem hella lacking

The hardware spec increase was not very much, but the addition of their version of DLSS will make a difference.

Technically I think they could have added that feature to the old PS5 to give everyone huge performance increases for free, but they obviously needed something to sell.

Still, it's pretty wild that the new performance boost mostly comes from software and not hardware.

not sure if ps5's been hacked yet, but imagine if someone is able to add that software boost to existing ps5's :ilied:

New war zone just dropped, probably the biggest upgrade the game has ever had as it’s switched over to the Black ops engine now, what a huge technical improvement

Everything is better, I give them credit for not skimping where they could have easily skimped. Ie. with the head set on I can hear VERY accurate directional audio such as someone running up a spiral staircase above me

Can also hear bullets hitting the wall behind you and bullets hitting different materials such as doors, windows, etc. have distinct sounds

Shoppers is getting out of carrying electronics, so good luck if you're saving up points for xbox/ps5/switch for their next points event.

I ended up getting a Pro, traded in my base Launch PS5 Disc with shitty controller and Launch PS4. Got some bonus trade in credits, sold some physical games I don't see myself playing again. Paid about 450? or so after taxes.

In my mind, I was going to end up getting one anyways, and I've been trying to sell my PS4 launch, and the PS5 base will drop in value once the market is saturated.

I am absolutely loving it! PSSR is absolutely stunning. Only shitty thing is I have to wait for a disc drive to be available, not paying scalpers or autobuy subscriptions. God I hate Sony so much.
