I was able to get in on the VIMC action too. That track is a blast!

We need to start doing community events. Food bank fundraisers, charity car shows etc and show Cowichan that we’re good people! And get that phase 2 build ASAP

keeping it japanese: advan a/t, pioneer stack, piaa fogs, enkei optional 18's painted
can't decide if i wanna wire up front off-road cam or the SNES classic LUL

320icar 10-12-2020 03:43 PM

always forget about the grand vitara. how kind of system does it have, 4wd or real-time awd like rav4/crv?

twitchyzero 10-12-2020 05:00 PM

47:53 rwd bias, can lock it 50/50
4lo uses 2:1 ratio
t-case has a neutral mode for flat towing behind a RV

dared3vil0 10-12-2020 06:02 PM

Open diffs or limited slips?

twitchyzero 10-12-2020 07:23 PM

only the center locks, otherwise it relies on traction control
note they started at 25k back in 06, and in some markets this gen was still sold up to 2018 lol

underscore 10-12-2020 08:01 PM

I see one around every so often that has a small lift and AT tires that always gets my attention. I didn't realize that they have 4lo, now I'm getting bad ideas lol.

really liking this brick so far. added roof basket and replaced the broken grill with a XC cross country grill.

looking to add a set of fogs so I can see better at night. Can't see anything at all with this weather nowadays.

Have one blown front strut... contemplating on new struts... should I raise the ride height on this thing..... :considered::considered::considered:

I’ve always loved your build but I have to ask....does the wing make a difference compared to stock? Only reason I can potentially understand it is because you actually track the car hard and often. Can’t stand these gigantic wings 95% of the time #whatsnext #F7LTHY

I think honestly the wing wouldn't help... On an AWD car you generally WANT the rear to rotate a bit, and the wing would make it more difficult to do so with the down force, assuming it makes measurable down force at speed. Might be a primarily cosmetic thing.

320icar 10-15-2020 07:47 PM

Spoilered for those disinterested.

Spoiler!

EvoFire 10-15-2020 08:00 PM

Based on my absolutely unscientific approach, I'd say the wing helps even on a FWD car.

The wing would allow you to run a much looser setup which could be very twitchy at high speeds. The wing would keep the ass planted on high speed sweepers but allow you to have a harder attack on the tight slow stuff. At the expense of top speed of course.

prelude_prince 10-15-2020 09:14 PM

Wow. I'm actually surprised at the noticable fuel economy increase for daily commuting too. Didn't think wings mattered that much unless in high speeds.

320icar 10-15-2020 09:26 PM

Slight highway (Ladner to richmond, flow of traffic. City I don’t think you’d notice anything

tofu1413 10-15-2020 09:32 PM

I remember running the J's wing on my ITR made a difference on a few of the mid speed parts on the ridge versus the original factory issue stock wing.

rear was more stable and felt a bit less nervous. Same tires, same suspension set up. only thing was the spoon lip (which I doubt made a difference on the front, besides the brake duct upgrade) and the J's wing itself. Was running the middle on the angle of attack on that wing.

I'm sure these wings have a purpose to a certain extent.. I mean McLaren Senna's wing is a monster of a wing and that car generates a black hole amount of downforce...
