broke the ralliart sport back.

bought a swedish brick to replace it. 98' V70 wagon non turbo. plain and simple. works well. surprisingly cheap parts to keep it running.

that 20 valve 5 cylinder is an interesting sounding motor.

The air quality in China looks better than that of Vancouver's. :D

After driving the e46 wagon to tofino this weekend, I realized I really want an e91.

What's the difference?

Personally I think the e9X interior to be pretty crappy.

How so? Materials? or general design and functionality? I definitely have my complaints, but I far prefer the e9x interior to my old e46's.

The e46 is rickety. The squeaks and rattles are worse than my e30 and e36 put together. It’s gutless as well. I’d have to do too many things to make this a car I want. Would rather just replace it with something newer, safer and faster.

My e39 525i wagon to Tofino was pretty fun. No squeaks. Not fast for sure but could be much worse. Pretty good on gas too.

Mainly material choice, they don't seem to wear well and the earlier versions of iDrive hasn't aged well

I was under the impression that E46 was decently well put together and it was peak BMW.

I have never had any build issues with my E46 330i and my E46 M3. The M3 coupe does sound like it flexes a bit more due to much larger openings than my sedan with no fold-down rear seats. Nothing inside squeaks and rattles while driving though. It’s tight and well sorted.

No build issues on my E46 330ci or E46 M3 either. Only rattles came from "mod-creep" where I decided to put in poly mounts lol

I wouldn’t say that e46 build quality is less than the other cars I own. Just this car, specifically a 266k underpowered wagon owned by an old lady for most of its life is just a tired car. The e30 squeaks are less noticeable because the s14 is so fucking loud haha.
It’s just about the road trip beater being a younger, safer car that fuels the desire, as there’s no way I’m putting the time, money and effort into this car to make it good again. It’s not nearly special enough to warrant that treatment.
