lots of trade offs in modern powerplants: cvt or lots of gears mostly keeping you out of powerband, gdi carbon buildup, premium gas, ridiculous tires sweet spot is the 10-12 year old design: timing chain, port injection, most problems sorted/well-documented, regular gas, not snappy shifts but not old slushbox slow/gear hunting, worse crash rating, worse fuel mileage but not wallet hurting like 80s 90s, parts dirt cheap or affordable |

First time wash this new member and New Daily Rocket!! Just a Model 3 https://i.imgur.com/LdMpgwc.jpg https://i.imgur.com/lt8hCE4.jpg |
I swear I can't go more than a few seconds without seeing a Model 3 in Richmond nowadays. I walked to the Walmart complex and back along Garden City one day and stopped counting after 30 of them lol |
Not sure about vancouver, a lot of place are still getting it with gov't incentive. In Hong Kong, you can get one without any paying any registration tax and the annual license tax is super low. Model 3 is now the top seller in 2019 and 2020 every month. I paid CAD78k total for my Performance model, for the same price, I couldn't even get a BMW 320i or MB E200 here. Gas is $3.1/L here lol, so no surprise. If I move back to Vancouver, I will also buy another one. |

Its crazy how model 3 invades the world like alien. I live in North Vancouver, but work in Richmond. So, My E class V8 used to cost me $500-600 a month just on regular daily commute. Now, model 3 only costs me max $100 a month. and...it beats my E class that has 750hp / 800tq v8 in drag race...LOL But after 130kph, i can feel the acceleration is not as strong as my E class V8 |
Yep its hard to beat for the price point, got one right when the incentives were combined 10K off. The model 3 has saved our family approx $5000 in a year in gas, havent had to pay for electricity as I usually charge it at work, the off chance I do charge it at home the costs are negligible. My wife usually drive it and its nice that you can cool down the car, or preheat the car when you need to. Also no need to warm up the car before taking off if youre running late or whatever. With the money I saved, I just convince her to let me spend it on more cars lol |

5-6k a year on gas from one vehicle? yall drive V8s in gridlock congestion? |
^^ Because AMG and I drive around 100km a day. FeelsBadMan I did the math and I should save around $400+ a month. However Tesla finance rates sucks, last time I checked it was 3.5% and they don't have scrap it. And I didn't want to do such long term debt commitment given covid. |

Besides fuel cost, maintenance, Parts and repair cost me $10,130.79 My wife told me to throw away the E class V8... and, it's transmission also was acting up...trans shop told me it will be $6K repair...LOL |
I don't remember the unit price of electricity in BC anymore, for sure it is cheaper than a lot of place and there should be more free charging stations in lower mainland now. In long run, EV will save you a lot of running cost (gas and oil change) when you find a charging pattern. Tesla gave me free 12000km SC until 2023, and I don't have a charger at home, every Sunday morning will be my SC hour |

Official 2020 "Latest Pic of Yo Whip" Thread - the new decade! No leasing in Canada yet. My commute is around 60km per day if I need to goto the office. So I just charge with 120v at home. It costs 10¢-12¢/kW. I use just over 12kW to travel 60km. If i travel further and I can’t keep up to 120v charging I just jump onto a supercharger for 15-25 minutes to top up. |
