https://www.childtrends.org/indicato...ren-in-poverty Do you like individual property rights? Of course you do. Your nice car that you bought? Your home? Those are not yours. Not If you're a socialist. If you don't want to talk about it in this thread, don't bring up the system that, when implemented to its full capacity, has brought suffering and misery to those foolish enough to embrace it. And i won't bring up the system that has pulled those fools out of their self imposed poverty. |
Almost forgot that the most important thing in life, even with all this going on, is owning stuff. I agree that this should be brought to a new thread |
China has been shutting down most of the major public venues again this week. 1500 new asymptomatic cases here in the last few days, so probably times that number by at least 10x. On a side note, a friend flew back to YVR from Shanghai last week and he said there's literally no one checking temps or asking him about anything china related. He was traveling with a friend with a chinese passport too. No one stopped them or even mentioned anything about having to self quarantine. Went through customs as usual, and said was unbelievable how relaxed YVR was at a time like this. He's currently self isolating at home by choice. |
Good morning RS, I hope everyone continues to do their part and stays home as much as possible. I'll share what I can once I get back into the mix at the hospital. Fight the good fight. We can do this  |

With their lack of patent laws, lack of regulations on safety and pollution, financial system, system of governance, they remove all hindrance. You can not play ball with a country and expect not to get clobbered when the playing field is that far off balance. It will be interesting to see where this all goes. Fascinating times we live in. |

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/artic...na-doctors-say Chinese doctors/health experts/etc are saying those with mild symptoms need to be quarantined in a separate location as well, not at their homes, where they spread it to family, or even others |

Case # 21 is the Lynn Valley Care Centre worker identified on Mar 5. On Mar 10, she is admitted to hospital. Case # 29 and #30 teen aged boy and man in his 50's whom are both household contacts to Case # 21 identified on Mar 9. These three cases are likely husband, wife and their child. What probably happened was, on Mar 5 she was tested positive, so told to stay home. While being cared for by her family, they get sick too. Knowing that she was admitted to the hospital on the 10th, she likely expelled droplets all over the the house that the husband and child picked up. Some care workers are sleeping in their garage to avoid going into the house where their family lives. Others have a room and a washroom sectioned off using tarp and the person is only allowed in the tarped area while the parents use the rest of the house. Okami is fortunate to be able to live alone somewhere, but as we know is making sacrifices of seeing his family face to face. |
Very frustrating to see our health officer STILL speaking out against the use of masks for those who are not "sick". Even though it's been widely known for weeks that the huge majority of transmission has come from those who are asymptomatic. https://www.livescience.com/coronavi...ed-spread.html Quote:

Theresa Tam mentioned today there have been 236000 covid-19 tests performed in Canada. Does anyone have a source of how this compares with the rest of the world? The google produced mostly outdated numbers. Some other interesting numbers. US has tested approximately 850k Thats 3.6x the amount of tests in Canada. They have 10x the population They have 23x confirmed cases of the virus They have an infection rate of 21% according to the tests Canada has an infection rate of 3.1% according to our tests |
^^ I'm very disappointed how chill Canada still is regarding this. They are willing to offer free handouts but not do a full shut down and putting more people's lives in danger as everything is an essential service. |
This is what happens when you rely on globalism and your country can't make things for their own citizens. |
that's pretty fucked up :rukidding: |
several masks from the last batch i wore smelled funny :okay: |

This, 100%. I have no doubt SNSC triggered the bankruptcy clause to abrogate any financial responsibility in terms of severance, and obligations. There is no doubt at all their same locations will be "re-branded" and picked up by a new gym outfit (even by same investors and ownership). This is capitalism for you. Good luck trying to do that yourself though, huh? Quote:
