You are right. There is a distinction between cover up versus burying _*insert whatever history lesson____. 99% of the countries have done both, in this COVID19, China did bury the first few doctors. No doubt.
The doctors are now proven heros and no longer guilty. Too late still.
Downplaying to a new low like what Trump is doing... downplaying masks are "not needed" when it's CLEARLY super helpful... is that lying? i don't know... just as guilty? I don't know.
We always have the man power, we can always put the army to man the phones to deal quarantine. It's really to leverage the best value to do what is needed.
As per Prof. Jack Lindsay U of Manitoba
There are differences between (Canada at least) Emergency act versus provincial and federal state of emergency.
-controlling movement
- forcing people to evacuate an area
-closing down public or private places
-the requisition of property
-power to search properties without a warrant.
The most critical one is the power to suspend rights during the time of the crisis.
My thoughts below: if BC has the right to take over buildings, i'm sure hotels are considered, but why has it not:
1) openness of area, ease of access, and mobility. which is why stadiums / conference centers are always first and a lot of the parks are being used first as testing center.
2) Private versus public sector. There are collateral damages when you access private property on state of emergencies like this.
MS versus Apple is a legit example, however, the core of everything is still made in China. China being still the most used for production is due to their ability to scale. I don't see China losing this round anytime soon. (Yes, Cambodia, Vietnam / Pakistan are still good runner ups). Mind was blown when you go to SZ + BJ and Shanghai; they are light years ahead of us on day to day app / payment / ordering / social accessibility functions. Heck 1 industry... Telsa is good, but there are 4 runner up who are in that sector that are just on par (if not equal). |
Why you talking like a $0.50? :fuckthatshit: This is RS last time I checked.
Same strategy... when I talk about point A, you just talk about B, and when I talk about B, you start talking about C.
Trump incompetence and lack of drastic measures is NOT part of the discussion. I was saying that China could have done a lot more instead of fucking burying it... and even AFTER they recognized that Dr. Li was wrongly accused BY THE POLICE FORCE, they didn't just come clean... they just changed the strategy and tried to pin this virus on someone else. NEVER admitting that they, the almighty CCP, could have done anything wrong. As a matter of fact, they went on to DEFEND the censorship in their statement... just lamented that it was used past the line. But where is there line?
As a matter of fact, if you want to talk about this point C, I can also talk about it. If you were Trump, and you have a good amount of trust on WHO, and their data assure you that it's nothing. Hell... Xi probably tells that to Trump on their private phone call. WTF was he supposed to do? Make a huge deal out of it and lockdown every major city in US? Oh, I'm sorry... this is not China, where it's not "what I say counts"... such a measure would never stand a chance to pass House/Senate or even court given the OFFICIAL data available atm.
And I'm well-versed in the Chinese tech. I have every major app you can name in Chinese market on my phone and use them every time I'm in China. But stop saying that they are more advanced than us. You know why they have those apps? Because of gov't surveillance and control. Do you think an app like AliPay can exist without major gov't backing (*cough*bribe*cough*) or serving a major purpose? This is the CCP we are talking about. There's only thing you can't imagine them doing, but not things they can't do.
Their new "4 Great Invensions": HSR, online shopping, mobile payment and bike sharing.
1. forced tech transfer from all major HSR manufacturers
2. Concept not new... Why basically only Taobao/JD left? cause they've got the connections. Foreign players can never compete.
3. AliPay/WeChat pay... China is so far behind in the finance sector vs. Western that I don't want to even dive into this. (just check the credit card sector in China) But if you really want to talk, this keeps people's expense history in check, and again, same opportunities never given to foreign players. And plz explain to me how is take phone out, unlock, open app, scan/be scanned faster than me taking out CC and tap? Oh, face scanning you wanna say? Yeah... they need interaction with your cell still at some point, I've timed myself ever since they introduced the functionality, tapping comes out faster every time.
4. Bike what??? They are a disgrace now.
They are so bad that the official medias have stopped using the phrase 4 new invention because of the amount of mocking they receive.
Finally, you can't see China losing this because you think all the western countries would continue to outsource everything. Maybe some who can't afford. But US/UK/EU... after an economical collapse, what kind of message do you think would get politicians most vote? Yep... the MAGA kind of message, to bring home the work positions lost. And what's faster than a fuck China policy?
