Yeah, that video was posted on RS when it first came out. This is why I log into RS so muchee............. Like local and International news as it happens. Even sooner than CTV, CBC, or News 1130 airs the story.

My question is, is she supposed to be what chinese girls want to look like, or worse, is that what Chinese women think is a good looking guy?

No homo, but cot dam, the rest of RS have very little to worry about. Just Saiyan.

The other reason I love RS so muchee is that it makes me feel young. Keep up with the latest trends and be all hip, like you know who.......:suspicious:

Solly, I had to pick myself off the floor, hee hee, hue hue, pew pew.

Hits that middle demographic I think. Middle income, not too bad looking but not 1% model level either.

I don't want this to come off the wrong way, but the amount of "bad" looking people in PRC is actually shocking to a degree (law of averages I guess with that many people). Think one would do pretty well if they looked like any of those in the CM.

Who cares if your sick when you’re homeless and your family falls apart.

We already see it in the states with the protests and whatnot. People can hope all day long that those who are out protesting are the ones who will get sick and die, but odds are, they won’t be the ones who do.

Franky, In the states at least, it feels like people would be more willing to accept the hospitals he jammed with sick people and have people die than change their habits and wear masks etc.

Sounds like things are working out for Sweden lol:

“ Sweden’s epidemiologist-in-chief, defends this as a failure not of the approach, but of component systems: It turns out Swedish nursing homes are fantastically vulnerable to COVID-19 outbreaks, just like ours. Somali immigrants are hugely over-represented among the infected. Tegnell suggested this was because they’re not doing the things public health officials are asking them to do, because they’re poorly integrated into Swedish society. (Swedes don’t need to be ordered around, because they are so trustful of officialdom, and of each other, that a kind request is all that’s needed — or so the story goes.)”

Hmmm, how convenient. The same is being said about Africans in China, and Sri Lankan/Indian migrant workers in Singapore, etc.

Funny how countries who have long been opposed to and practice demagoguery against their cheap labor migrant workforce are using COVID as an excuse to continue those racist practices, and blame that population.

How fascinating, and fitting.

This is exactly what I've been saying from the start here, you will see populations use COVID to validate these racist agendas, and populist ideals. It's disgusting.

A lot of these places that were complaining about northern African migrants prior to this seemingly had cases for their complaints imo.

I went to Nice on either side of the “migrant crisis” and it was a starkkkkk contrast in 2 years. My parents went shortly after I did and witnessed a mugging and a couple robberies all at the hands of the group in question.

spoon.ek9 04-18-2020 04:22 PM

Out of curiousity, I ran the numbers to see the current mortality rate. Only modification I made was to subtract the bullshit numbers out of China.

As of 17:00 PST 18Apr2020:

Confirmed cases: 2,329,030 - 82,719 = 2,246,311
Confirmed deaths: 160,522 - 4632 = 155,890

155,890 x 100 then % by 2,246,311 = 6.94%

numbers were pull from worldometer

If you include the numbers from China it drops to 6.89%

hud 91gt 04-18-2020 05:43 PM

I think it’s a lot smarter if you divide deaths by world population. Confirmed cases is a completely useless number as it is completely dependant on thorough and accurate testing. Which is not happening. Considering a solid chunk of people have no symptoms, and a larger chunk with symptoms, told to stay home (without testing, atleast in Canada) any other statistics are just sensational gimmicks for the media.

Jmac 04-18-2020 05:53 PM

The estimated mortality rate is in the 0.5-0.7% range.

Or it can mean that your skin is just shedding off old skins for new ones. Happen to a classmate back in elementary. I believe it had happened to me before when I was younger too.

You have a point but at the same time, there are plenty of deaths that aren't accounted for. People who have died and not been tested for the virus, countries giving out false numbers to save face, people who's bodies have already been cremated and won't be available for testing, etc.

Fermentation process creates both co2 and converts sugar to alcohol

I don't agree with the riots in the States. It makes the situation worse, and some of the reasons are pretty dumb, like getting hair cut and uhm... Murican Freedom[emoji769].

That said, a plan should be developed during meantime before the vaccine comes out. If we can solve the mask supply problem, it could actually work, seeing how Canadian culture is a bit more compliant with this kind of regulation than American culture.

I am not sure if Canada will have enough balls to talk to Taiwan about it. China probably won't be too happy about that...

where's your go to place to pick up soda stream cartridges? from their website or amazon? I just got one a few months back and probably should pick up at least one refill

MG1 04-19-2020 07:31 AM

I usually get them (refills) at Bed Bath and Beyond. I went and got one at Canadian Tire. I only have one spare. Two or three should be good enough. I mean I can only drink so much. There are other things that are more important as far as shortages go. Milk, eggs, veggies, bread, etc.

I wAnder what's next to be in short supply. C'mon, RS. Predictions?

There's a shortage of elastic and HEPA filters because people are making their own masks. BTW, think twice before making masks out of HEPA filters. There are reports of these filters causing damage to lungs. Something about glass fibres in the material that causes respiratory issues, because these filters are not meant to be, "in your face."

Didn't see the yeast thing coming. Cooking oil and flour for a short time, but now seems to be okay.

I got another spare propane tank and have tonnes of the 1lb ones. I guess I should have at least a couple of jerry cans of gasoline. Driving the EV around, but do have the SUV which has an ICE. I ordered a good quality butane stove and three cartridges from Russell Hendrix. Not going to rely on cheap, $20.00, made in chinar crap.

Was contemplating planting more veggies in the back yard. Replace flowers and roses with carrots, spinach, beans, dukes, etc. Then realized I have a few deep freezers. Load up on frozen veggies and meats. M&M Foods, ftmfw!

320icar 04-19-2020 09:53 AM

There is plenty of food out there and no real shortage. No one is going to starve and at worst you’ll have to buy ‘pre carbonated water’ instead of your luxury artisanal pop.

Not saying you can’t be prepared but everyone has to keep things in prospective

Most people take anything I say with more than a grain of salt..........

Anyway, wait until this virus mutates and becomes much more aggressive and deadlier than it is. Much like chicken pox that turns into Shingles. This virus was released onto the world as a weapon. And, there's no James Bond, 007 to save us.

CT is a good place to get 'em. The Sodastream stuff is usually near the entrance. You can grab one on your way in, and beeline to the customer service to do the exchange. For my wife and I, we have 2 CO2 carts, and 3 bottles. We are never without cold, super-fizzy water.

London Drugs usually have them in stock, it's about $16 after the canister swap refund. I find having two is more than enough to last 1-2 months you drink from it daily.
