Heard there was an outbreak case at the Goodlife north burnaby location. I stopped going mid last week even though I go to the metrotown location.. I know a couple guys who rotate between the 2 locations during the week to squeeze in more session times:heckno:

Sad but home gym it is for the next month or so:alone:

BC will almost definitely have to go back to "phase 1" or whatever they are calling it. Full lockdown...

People have a chance to get ahead of it a bit, making things just a bit safer and the lockdown a bit more effective SeemsGood

I think a lot of people here have continued to be vigilant, but if you were starting to relax a bit with the bits of good news that were coming around, I would recommend reevaluating and go from there. Only go out if you really have to, don't eat out at restaurants, etc.

That’s how my wife and I continued to operate. Shame about things probably going south again :(

Been seeing social media stories from Vancouver and how relaxed some people have now become.. :fulloffuck:

I felt quite safe in Richmond since everyone was masked up.

But I would assume it’s just vacationers from out of town or Alberta

I was in the okanagan over the July 1-5 weekend and the number of alberta plates was crazy

That's really good, I bet only 10-15% of people in Langley are wearing masks grocery store or anywhere else.

Yea when I was in Penticton/Osoyoos/Oliver there were also quite a few Washington plates.

Have a hotel booked for the week after August long in Penticton to go wine touring again and then off to a friends cabin. We’ll see how it goes

I’ll admit I’ve relaxed with the mask a little. My local area stores are relatively quiet and I’m comfortable shopping in them without a mask. I religiously wash/disinfect and maintain a safe distance while doing so.

If I have to hit Walmart/Costco/Superstore etc. I’m masked up for certain. Too many humans in places like those.

Hondaracer 07-14-2020 04:02 PM

Only 13 new cases today, party on

spoon.ek9 07-14-2020 04:16 PM

went to Poco IKEA yesterday, definitely a lot less masks being used. It wasn't super bad just a bit less than I'm used to seeing. Almost all staff wore one at least.

Hondaracer 07-14-2020 04:26 PM

Went to Morey Nissan to get break pads and it was a fucking joke there.

The infinity side was closed so everything is through the Nissan side they have a row of desks with markers in the floor however no one working was wearing masks, this old fucking service guy walking around with a cane was in everyone’s face walking right passed people like face to face butting in front of me to use the ATM machine.

Terrible setup as well with the atm pads just down one side of the room and everyone has to awkwardly walk passed each other to get to them, touch them no cleaning being done on them etc. I was about to snap because no one dealt with me as I was standing there for like 6-7 minutes and people just getting close up walking passed me etc.

Can confirm. Walked around Fort Langley. Masking was 5% by my guess.

Wish the mosquitoes would social distance. Got eaten alive.

What freaks me out is restaurant workers or store workers/ cashier's not wearing masks, you literally see a million people a day and any of them can be infected but you don't wear a mask? :fulloffuck:

Every one of us at work wears a mask all day. Lots of places aren't and I can't understand it. We were all completely fucked 2 months ago, to the point where we legitimately believed almost every (dine in) restaurant in the city would permanently close if it continued through the summer. I don't know why people are playing with their health and their livelihood. I've heard the argument from some people, "why would I want to go out and get served by someone in a mask?"
Well maybe because those are the places that are professional enough to put the health and safety of their customers and staff where it should be. Like, you don't eat your servers face, what the fuck does it negatively affect you that they have a mask on? It's an uncomfortable environment? The places that aren't going above and beyond what's mandated should be the uncomfortable environment.

spoon.ek9 07-14-2020 08:59 PM

there's still a north american bias against masks. it's gotten better of course, but there's still a ways to go on this matter.

I remember years ago when a kid I know went to elementary school with a mask on because she was sick. the teacher told her to take it off as if it were rude or something.

Nlkko 07-14-2020 09:09 PM

All fun and games and hoax until all of the sudden your ass is dead and your family gofundme asking for hands out for funeral like real capitalists.

So I went to Savio Volpe today -- I've been to a few places already but this was probably the first one where the tables were not 2 meters apart. Is this still a requirement in phase 3?

It isn't a requirement if their are partitions or plexiglass or something of the sort in between. On another note, how was the food? They just got a great new chef de cuisine there and I can't wait to go back.

6thGear. 07-14-2020 09:27 PM

I hope they eased up on the salt for the pasta. Seems like quite a few reviews also thought their pasta was on the salty side

Food was amazing as per usual, especially the Tagliatelle. I've been a few times already. Hmmm yeah no pexiglass and nothing between us and the other table but we were roughly 4 feet apart.

westopher 07-14-2020 09:35 PM

Hmm. It's tough, because sometimes the day things start 2M apart, and that said, it should be seat to seat, but sometimes an overzealous host or customer for that matter slides a chair somewhere where it shouldn't be. But yeah, person to person (not necessarily tables, depending on seating arrangement) still need to be 2M apart, unless there are dividers. That said I believe if the seats are back to back they don't need to be 2M.

IMO masks are like condoms. You get a high level of protection if you wear it (both to and from people). Not using it is pretty fucked up and I'd probably actively avoid the place if I see them without masks.

So, kudos for using it all the time because I get uncomfortable after half hours... can't imagine if I had to wear that thing the entire work time.
