A scotch a night for me. 1, 2, or 3 fingers? It’s varies. Ha. I found a cheap blended one now that I don’t mind, so cutting expenses. Haha.

Tullamore Dew is pretty cost effective. Also if you want to stretch your budget Powers is almost as good as it gets in terms of Taste VS cost. About $50 a bottle if you can find it. Both Irish whiskeys

I don't drink at all (well). Hate beer. Stopped drinking anything with alcohol in it a while ago (except new year's sip of sake). I have plenty of alcohol at home. All kinds of whiskey, wine, vodka, etc. I buy them as gifts for people. I also buy them whenever I stay in the US for more than three days (Duty Free). I decided it's time to start drinking again. I've never had Irish Cream before and after watching all these ads on television, I decided to get some Bailey's. I like it. Going today to get some more. Maybe try other liqueurs, as well. Lining up to get booze......... uh.......... :okay:

EDIT: Ice wine, ftmfw!

subordinate 04-15-2020 08:38 AM

Yep.... drinking more alcohol as well. Got to have some vices in life.

EuterVanWasser 04-15-2020 08:50 AM

I'd say I'm drinking less overall in a 1 month period, but with this crisis and being cooped up at home, it's like.. when I feel like a drink, it's not going to be just 1 or 2.. it's going to be 5 or 6 and a shitty night's sleep thereafter.

Tapioca 04-15-2020 08:59 AM

My neighbours are functioning alcoholics - they probably polish a bottle of wine off every night and who knows what else.

It's easy to drink your sorrows away during this pandemic and I fear that we're going to end up with a lot more people like my neighbours when we ease up on restrictions.

My preferred vice is caffeine. I picked up about 7 pounds of coffee last month from a Costco and it's going fast.

StylinRed 04-15-2020 09:08 AM

ex had a roommate who would drink a bottle of wine at work, and come home at the end of the day to drink another bottle or two... Crazy Aussies

Polishing a bottle of wine off a night is an alcoholic? That’s like 2 glasses a person (sounds like you were talking about atleast 2 people) Maybe that’s what an alcohol says. Haha.

I haven’t dabbled into the Irish whiskeys in a long time.

I was going to Japan quite often so I have been burning through my Japanese stash. I had to quit that as I no longer have that ability to build a stash. Haha New Best Buy? “John Barr”, when I say it’s cheap. I mean cheap. I think about $30. It’s far from excellent, not much aroma but I still enjoy sipping on it. After getting a few real “scotch’s” for gifts, I’m finding a lot of the japanese stuff really lacked character. But I’m not that picky anyhow. I’ll check your suggestion out.

....yes!

You must have small wine glasses. The wife and I kill a bottle in 2 glasses ea and ours are pretty much half full.

HonestTea 04-15-2020 10:36 AM

Been drinking a bit more as well. Mostly wine and a beer or two. 4 bottles of wine per week (2 people)

Hondaracer 04-15-2020 11:04 AM

So my buddy who works at the Burnaby mountain tank farm says there’s been groups of 100+ protestors over the last few days there basically all huddled together not social distancing whatsoever, making hell for the police and people having to deal with them

But hey, mainstream media and Global who is right down the street from there would never cover a story like that right now.. :/

Too bad first responders and health care staff can’t choose who to treat and who not to...

If they could, think of all the people who would have died in the DTES without molaxone or whatever that stuff was

spoon.ek9 04-15-2020 12:15 PM

are you saying health care workers would want those in dtes to die? tf, no they wouldn't...

320icar 04-15-2020 12:35 PM

I’m not saying they would but I damn well guarantee they’ve thought of it. Especially with paramedics resuscitate the same person 3 times in a week

A small team of firefighters and paramedics take over. The first responders believe the man – Justin – is the one they revived in the same spot a day earlier.

there's always going to be people who are rude af even when you're just trying to help. sometimes it's a psych issue but a lot of the time it's just a shitty person. by and large, people are very grateful in hospital.

What're all you newfound alcoholics doing with the empties? Are the recycling depots even open?

GLOW 04-15-2020 02:11 PM

good question, with box wine you don't have to worry :drunk:

i guess if you leave it out in a box in the alley some grandma will swing by and claim it?

Depots that have Return-It express service are still open.

Sign up for an account and get bags to drop off. https://www.return-it.ca/express/

I give mine to an old guy who lives in the hood I’ve aptly named “bike boy” I think his name is John he doesn’t speak much English lol.

He in turn brings my fresh veggies from his garden, good system :lol

Although I feel kinda scared for him as that’s probably the worst way to come into contact with germs etc
