Honestly though if some no-neck-red-neck fuck like that guy barged in without a mask you think the 20-year-old immigrant security guard is going to put up much of a fight? Cops need to be called as soon as these fuckers get belligerent. |

The program that we're seeing scandals popping up in regards to which Trump/Republican cronies that received large sums of cash as part of the program, along with zero oversight in terms of the Fed stimulus program. Modern day fleecing of the tax payers, very much akin to, if not worse than 2008. |
maybe guy at T&T was just trying to stur shit up, figure asians won't cause much of a fuss when he starts acting tough, and got upset he ran in to a bus uncle type and went all in. |
The Daily Shit posted an article about the Northgate location of Good Life gym. One member tested positive recently. https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/coro...naby-northgate In a statement to Daily Hive, Tracy Matthews, vice president of operations, said that the individual spent time at their Burnaby Northgate Club. They occupied the gym over a 12-day period between June 22 and July 3, typically between 7:30 and 10:30 am. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The celebrities of course stand out, but there are so many huge corporation with hundreds of millions in the bank, taking from the public instead of using the money they already have. And people bitch about some poor family staying on CERB too long or shit like that. Fuck off. |

It's basic trickle down economics. You give rich people money for no reason, and then nothing happens. |
Give money to the rich, they'll just use it to make more money, evade taxes, black hole. Give money to the poor. They'll spend it. |

It's weird eh, it seems almost too obvious yet we've been doing it backwards for how long now? |

Ask everyone who wants to cross into Canada from US to quarantine in one of the many hotels by the border at their OWN expense. After 14days, take a test, again, at their cost, if it's negative, they can enter Canada. This would prevent people who has no true need to come into Canada, while helping the hotel industry in the area. I think as far as reopening the border goes, I have a similar opinion to re-opening the economy. You have to do it, because there are people who are severely affected by it. You just make it strict enough so that we can manage it. For example, family who are separated by the lockdown can now reunite, but at a heavy cost. And only people who have true needs would go through the process. Because this "keeping it closed" is BS.... anyone can still fly in and out without much limitation, but flying, the same as the method I just described, make it hard enough for many and we filter all the "non-essential" out. |
I don’t trust a single one of them to follow the rules we put in place |

Again... it's a nicer way (diplomatically) to say no. No one in their right mind would take up on the offer unless they really have to. But it's a first step. Think about it... let's say Ontario's case get worse... do we, as Canadians, block/forbid Ontarians from coming to BC or any other Canadian prov/territories? We take step measures. And ease on the situation as we go along. |

With over 3 million cases down south and increasing exponentially by the day, seems asinine to even suggest opening borders for what, hotels and McD's in border towns? That's like gambling your house to win ten bucks. |
What I'm afraid of is the kid that lives downstairs starts banging on the door and no longer agreeing to just huff and puff while the grownups talk sensibly. |
I know what's going on... the reason of saying that is at what stage is considered "safe" to reopen? That the virus is completely eradicated? Until there's a vaccine? PEI or NB (can't remember exactly as I just heard briefly on the radio, but it's one of the Atlantic provs) recently had another few cases after going case-free for months because one of their own return home. You can't simply lock everything down... same thing as locking down with the economy. You survive the virus alright, but there's a destroyed economy that risk the livelihood of everyone. Not to mention that it's simply no one in their right mind willing to challenge, but such restriction has no chance of surviving a charter challenge because mobility freedom is one of the basic rights strictly protected by our charters. The right approach is to take step by step approaches. Making it extremely difficult at first, cautious and contained in the area and open it up little by little if some pre-defined guidelines and benchmarks are met (border town-->border cities of that town-->province). Too often, it's easy to find the way out with the least challenge... without thinking the long lasting consequences. |

The "one of their own" is a guy that arrived from the USA on a student visa, didn't self-isolate, and then cluster infected people in NS and PEI. Yeah, sure, let's open those borders right back up. You realize that our country as a whole has been able to slowly open back up in large due to our restricted borders, right? Easy to spout off hypotheticals but take a look around you, people can't even wear masks on their own accord. |
^ We are talking about different cases then. I clearly remember hearing that it was a lady who worked there, went to Ontario or something and then came home. Whatever the case, it's irrelevant. The fact is, no matter what you do... unless you literally block entrance of EVERYONE, with no exceptions, the risk of someone with the virus coming in is no greater or less assuming restriction is in place. We have to figure a way how to gradually work our way back. And not just wait until everything is done. Because sure... the benefit is that you minimize the chances, but then what? You fail to account all the unintended consequences... like people no longer want to come to BC because there's no longer reason for the person to do so. Having a plan only makes things better. That's what I'm advocating. Having no plan and just wait... NEVER in my life has anything ever turned out good by picking that approach. We as human like/prefer having a firm expectation... however long that expectation is. |
The people that HAVE to come and go from the states still can. Have a few family friends who had to fly to Cali and whatnot to conduct business they own down there and then the come back and isolate for 14 days Don’t think it’s necessary to have clowns come up to eat at restaurants and shop for deals. |
