Bowflex adjustable weights. That is all.

-bombshell of a claim by author Bob Woodward in his book "Rage" about Trump concealing the true threat of Covid from Americans:

Listen to the audio recording in the CNN article about Bob's conversation with Trump. Trumpy always wanted to "play it down" in terms of the true threat of Covid to the US:

President Donald Trump admitted he knew weeks before the first confirmed US coronavirus death that the virus was dangerous, airborne, highly contagious and "more deadly than even your strenuous flus," and that he repeatedly played it down publicly, according to legendary journalist Bob Woodward in his new book "Rage."

This is deadly stuff," Trump told Woodward on February 7.
In a series of interviews with Woodward, Trump revealed that he had a surprising level of detail about the threat of the virus earlier than previously known. "Pretty amazing," Trump told Woodward, adding that the coronavirus was maybe five times "more deadly" than the flu.
Trump's admissions are in stark contrast to his frequent public comments at the time insisting that the virus was "going to disappear" and "all work out fine

I wanted to always play it down," Trump told Woodward on March 19, even as he had declared a national emergency over the virus days earlier. "I still like playing it down, because I don't want to create a panic."
If instead of playing down what he knew, Trump had acted decisively in early February with a strict shutdown and a consistent message to wear masks, social distance and wash hands, experts believe that thousands of American lives could have been saved.

my gym has been open since mid june

start looking into crossfit gyms. we've got a limited capacity and pre-registration but i've had no issues going when i normally go

Hondaracer 09-09-2020 07:57 PM

Has anyone ever used somthing like this:

https://www.aosom.ca/item/5-speed-ma...kaAhNtEALw_wcB

And if I have a decent bike is it adequate as an exercise bike?

hud 91gt 09-09-2020 08:06 PM

A majority of serious riders use trainers at home. That style will work, but the new age is “smart” trainers. But your costs go up exponentially. As a minimum I’d try and find a “fluid” trainer.

Hondaracer 09-09-2020 09:54 PM

For the winter.

I mean to each their own, but I was saying I wouldn’t go even if my gym was open, that atmosphere is like Russian Roulette for an infection as far as I’m concerned

JDMDreams 09-10-2020 06:59 AM

What do you guys think the numbers will jump to now that kids are back to school :heckno:

quasi 09-10-2020 07:04 AM

My gym opened in summer, went back a few times and was like nope not worth.

I've cancelled my membership I'll buy some equipment for home.

Ch28 09-10-2020 07:49 AM

Don't forget to pick up some trainer tires if you go that route.

mikemhg 09-10-2020 07:53 AM

Maybe I'm crazy, I've been back in the gym since June, and not a single worry since going.

If you're truly a gym head, I don't know how your mental capacity can be satiated without it. I've weighed the risks versus my mental wellness, and I'm content with taking that risk.

What amazes me is seeing older guys, 30 years above me in the gym here working out hard, no masks, nothing.

The day gyms reopened I went to sign up for a new membership cause I knew my regular gym (community centre) was far from opening. I tried the whole home thing but despite me having some decent enough equipment and weight it wasn't the same and eventually I stopped all together.

I've already mentioned my experience to date has been great. Mind you I go at either 530am or 100am with the ladder obv being pretty dead. Even in the mornings when it's busier people are all over the place doing their own shit. Nobody is hovering around you people in general have displayed good behavior.

320icar 09-10-2020 10:50 AM

I find the problem with home gyms is not the equipment, it’s the motivation and staying focused. It’s so easily to not get that last rep, which turns into not getting that last set, and before you know it you’re on the couch eating pizza pops because it’s “the perfect macro-nutrient food”

Agreed, I tried then I'd find myself between sets watching TV, next thing you know it's been 10 mins since I've done anything. Going to the gym, the fact that I even left my house I'm like ok i'm committed and there's no turning back now. Same goes when I choose to work from home, so many distractions. Read a few emails, go to laundry, come back do a little more then go do dishes.

it's 14 people per hour session, 30 min time between classes, all weights are cleaned after use, the floor is scrubbed, everyone has their own square keeping everyone +6' apart

i'd much rather see the same group of 14 people daily who are being healthy and getting to the gym then going to the grocery store to tell you the truth.

twitchyzero 09-10-2020 09:15 PM

lol did this guy not see today's numbers

at least dix ended the video well
