Are the Costco ACs available in store? Or shipping only?

Its not that bad

If i can haul 800lbs of equipment onto a roof with dual exterior ladder access, and replace compressors in 39C at noon under the sun

You can push pencils and mash keyboards in your office

office ladies have enterted the chat

Interestingly I just saw a video of an installer carry up a compressor up a ladder and he dropped it about 10ft and it smashed into the ground.

I'm not sure what the correct way to do that is, but I don't think he was supposed to just carry it up himself?

Euro7r 07-31-2021 09:15 AM

Some light rain and cool temperatures this morning. South Vancouver area.

keifun 07-31-2021 12:33 PM

It's cloudy today but still feels so muggy and humid. Ugh

Everyone surviving? How is the restaurant scene, any closures due to the heat?

JDMDreams 08-13-2021 06:52 AM

So fucking hot couldn't sleep

whitev70r 08-13-2021 06:55 AM

Heat is bad enough, now for the next few days, we have air quality advisory. It looks hazy and smokey out there!

MG1 08-13-2021 07:02 AM

I forgot to set the timer on the AC and it was on all night. Woke up at 5:00 am because I was freezing. I can see the headlines. Senior found dead in bed, frozen.

nismodrifter 08-13-2021 07:20 AM

Fine ash in the air coming down at my place in south surrey.

JDMDreams 08-13-2021 07:50 AM

Can't even open the windows yesterday, and there's ash on the car this morning

Euro7r 08-13-2021 08:14 AM

I thought it was cloudy this morning, since saw no sunlight through bedroom blinds (was like wtf cuz weather said sunny all weekend). Then checked outside and it's hazy from the forest fires. Was planning to go hiking tomorrow, guess might need to replan.

Liquid_o2 08-13-2021 08:26 AM

I slept fine, but woke up to smoky smell in the bedroom. Closed all the windows, turned on the AC and cranked up the air purifiers. Thanks to whomever posted that Costco had the Winix C535 in stock, thank you! My little Levoit is good for the bedroom, but the Winix is perfect for the living room/kitchen.

Your AC doesn’t have temp control? Or you just have it on max cool 24/7? Lol

Alpine 08-13-2021 10:05 AM

House was pressure washed yesterday to prepare for painting... yay...

Obsideon 08-13-2021 12:37 PM

Luckily hiked a few days ago, hiking this weekend would be brutal.

Presto 08-13-2021 01:16 PM

I bought a PM2.5/10 meter to measure the difference of AQ between indoors and outdoors, and to see how effective the air purification strategy is working. We're using a MERV13 filter taped to a box fan, and it's great to see PM2.5 quantified and on the decrease. A measurement on the balcony an hour ago showed 199 ug/m³. Inside is currently 18 ug/m³ and falling.

It's Sharp AC. I have it on Mega Cool setting. I have it like two feet away from me at the side of bed. I have to make sure it is aimed nowhere near my head. My neck and shoulders cramp up and I get massive headache.

I have the Dyson Hot+Cold on the night table directed right at me, as well.

MG1 08-13-2021 03:10 PM

I was at the laundromat this morning. Nice AC and no smoke smell inside. When I got outside mid afternoon, that wall of sticky heat just about killed me. When I drove off, I started coughing from the shitty air. I rolled up the windows and started up the AC. Damn, the carbon activated cabin air filter I replaced last month really works. Coughing stopped and I felt much better. Being an electric drive, my range would take a hit, but it really didn't kill it as much as I thought it would. I charge at the laundromat for free, so it was a bonus. As soon as it got really cold, I would shut it off until it got warm again.

I would imagine those lucky bastards with a Tesla would not smell a thing.

MG1 08-13-2021 04:17 PM

I just got back home. Nobody else is at home as my youngest son, who is the only one still at home, is at work. Anyway, with this heat, I walk around the house with just boxer briefs on.

I start to take off all my clothes as I sing to this...........
Spoiler!

I take my socks off, but drop one on the floor. I bend over to pick it up. As i'm bent over, I feel someone grabbing my butt. I kind of freak out............ WTF? Maybe it's one of those one night stand chicks from my sordid past coming after me for child support, gulolol.

I turn around quickly......... nobody there. Hmmmmmm........... then it dawned on me. It's so fricken hot today that my usually butter smooth boxer briefs were stuck to my butt. as I bent over, they came loose and well................ it sure fell like someone was gently stoking my ass.............

How's that for a fucking weird story?

Pics or it didn't happen? Sure...........

JDMDreams 08-13-2021 05:11 PM

Damn it's humid and Smokey like China
