Leafs can’t keep this energy up for a whole series… almost no shots allowed even despite 7 minutes of PP time for TBL in the first period alone? |
LA vs Edmonton is a pretty great game, I hope the True Hockey Fans are watching it and not out on the golf course or looking at Tick Tock! |
Refs are really trying to make amends with McDavid... fingers are way too into this game for my liking |

i watched a bit of every game so far. i think i agree that the playoff intensity was the highest in the EDM/LAK game. almost wanted to see it go to OT :lol |
Mike smith didn’t wait long to fuck up a game lol.. This series could very well come down to goalies and I’d take quick over smith any day |
Mike Smith coughing up the puck, making an incredible save and bailing himself out, then getting scored on 10 seconds later is the most Mike Smith thing ever |

9.2 mil for Nurse after this season. Did Oilers consult with DimJim on that deal? |
He’s got all the tools but missing the toolbox… definitely a terrible signing $ wise |
I think it's an excellent deal for the Oilers. In fact, they should also give Evander Kane and Koskinen monstrous extensions. And in 2 years when Duncan Keith is 40, they should extend him too. |
The Official 2021/2022 Canucks & NHL Thread -had to laugh at this Daily Shit post about the Flames: https://www.instagram.com/tv/CdGZuoO...d=NjY2NjE5MzQ= Variable traffic signs have been spotted by drivers on Deerfoot Trail and Macleod Trail, with a Calgary Flames theme this morning — just in time for the Stanley Cup Playoffs. With the Flames set to open Game 1 against the Dallas Stars tonight at the Saddledome, City of Calgary signs encouraged drivers to shoulder check in a rather unique way. “If you shoulder check… so will Lucic! Go Flames,” the sign reads. On a serious side, I think that the Flames will beat Dallas in their series. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
The Official 2021/2022 Canucks & NHL Thread Rutherford: -happy with the job that Boudreau has done. He wants BB back coaching the team. Reporter asked about contract extension instead of just one year for BB. -suggestion about not putting Boudreau in a situation as a lame duck. JR said that the organization is strong to support Bruce. JR said that if players stop listening to Boudreau, those players will be gone from the Canucks before BB. -team must play with more structure instead of depending on our goalies to bail the team out. In particular, JR said that the team’s defensive zone exits are one of the worst in the league. He gave an example of when one of our D-man face puck pressure, we need a structure in place to give d men better options too S the pick out of the defensive zone instead of the d-man shooting the puck off the boards or glass. JR said that if the puck stays in our zone, then then the puck is likely to be in our net without the great play of our goalies. -likes Martin’s play. He sees Martin controlling rebounds and tracking the puck well. -Renovations for Rogers Arena in two areas: Media area for the reporters. Refresh the team locker room. Good news! New practice rink for the team. JR mention that management is narrowing it down to 2-3 sites. JR says that ever since the big boss Aquaman came to his house to talk about the Job as team president, his relationship with the big boss is terrific. They talk about the team every two weeks. He said that when the team need something, there is no pushback from the big boss. Allvin: -signing players to improve the team and just not for the sake of cap management. There is more work to get done to improve The team’s culture. Assistant GM Cami Granato and Chris Higgins will help bring more of the European prospects and NCAA players into development camp. That was a dumb offseason where all the young, available defensemen all received ~9m contracts lol. Off the top of my head... Chabot, werenski, hamilton, mcavoy, heiskanen, jones, nurse etc... We are lucky we have hughes signed for 7.x |
I liked Rutherford's answer about an extension... He said he's not going to extend him, just having him back next year... and if things go well, then they will talk. Used an example of Mike Sullivan in Pittsburgh, won 2 cups in a row and the next season was the last of his contract... still went halfway through the year before they started talking to him. He said otherwise you run the risk of paying multiple coaches every season. Media needs to fuck off with the lame duck label. I never even heard that expression until Travis Green's last year. Everybody has a last year on their contract at some point. |
^ how many coaches are the Canucks still paying? Tortorella? Desjardin? Green? I think they are off the books if another team hires them ... |
