Being in control of destiny is a mathematical thing...
Canucks aren't in control because they need "help" from the wild card teams to lose.

Even if Canucks win all their games, it's not necessarily good enough as they are still at the mercy of the results from team's they are chasing.

Because of their S/O lost tonight, they are also at the mercy of Vegas now.
