This isn't anything new, momentum swings happen. Strategies and matchups change. Two teams in a series exchanging blowout wins is not anything crazy. At the end of the day, the entire series is what matters. Blowout games are still only worth 1 win, and not every series is going to have 1 goal differences all the way to game 7.

You can’t lose two of the first games whether you’re home or away so it’s usually pretty tight

I actually find 1st round the most fun to watch, there are so many games on any given night. The further you go into the playoffs, the less exciting I find them. In the past, 1st round games were like going into double or triple OT ... BIG hits, lots of pressure on higher ranked teams.

lol well of course first round is the most exciting. everyone's going balls to the walls to try and fight for a cup. usually by the final, everyone is playing with some sort of injury and the pace dwindles down because of it. the stanley cup is still one of (if not the most) grueling championships to win.

It's a travesty that the Predators are in the playoffs but teams like the Canucks couldn't make it in... Although maybe Colorado is so good they make other teams look way way worse than they are?

I grew up in edmonton. I just remember them winning in 1990. Billy ranford lived down the street from my buddy and would give us 5 bucks if we scored on him playing street hockey. Wish I got to actually experience them winning as memories are pretty faint from that age.

Lol I know it's only 2 games to 1 but always figure Florida will have a good chance to exit early despite the expectations and great year. Washington is the 8 seed but it's probably as close a 1 vs 8 you'd ever see the East is that interesting after all.
