Good teams can mount sustained pressure. The Canucks usually barely muster a few shifts stringed together |
Bruce there it is! :') |
Jesus Christ has there ever been another team that treated their coach this shitty with a potential firing but still had the fans cheering them at the end? . This team is in shambles. |
Watched the game tonight only for Bruce. Seeing him tear up at the end of the game as fans chanted for him again was just heartbreaking. Bravo fans in attendance, much respect to you all. Comments on twitter are pretty telling when fans of other markets are also voicing their respect and love for Bruce. Good fucking luck Tocchet. You're basically the mom's new boyfriend trying to win over the kids who miss their dad. |

Sad to see Bruce go. From Bruce there it is, to Bruce, there he goes. Tocchet and Assistant coaches Gonchar and Adam Foote. The Three Amigos or the Three Stooges? We shall see. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It's not strung along like this for weeks, where even the replacement coach is known. It's kind of different when there's even time to prepare your own funeral and you're just waiting for it all to end... I at least appreciate the fans giving him a send off like this. Imagine if he does coach again on another team, the next time he returns to Rogers Arena, he gets a BRUCE THERE IT IS chant. |
there's speculation that they deliberately waited until now for the coaching change because the schedule becomes a lot easier. if demko comes back and we rattle off a bunch of wins, management will sell this to us hope that things are getting better soon. same shit, different year. |
I seriously think the coaching change is to get OEL to waive NMC. They're doing so badly, there's 0 reason to change the coach at this time. It's a lost cause. Sitting14 points behind the last wild card spot held by Colorado. JR already admitted the roster's not good enough because they couldn't offload contracts and fix the D. A new coach won't change that today. Previous rumors that they didn't want to be paying 3 coaches at the same time also meant they should've let Bruce finish the year. So my bet is they've calculated that paying the 3rd coach now (specifically Tocchet) will hopefully help offload OEL earlier and thus save money (and cap). |
This team stiiiiiiiiiiiiiinks |
is he fired yet? |
In the post-game, it was clear that mgmt didn't say anything to BB yet and is just letting him and the rest of the coaching staff squirm. I also read that Tocchet had to give his boss at whatever broadcasting job that he's doing an x amount of weeks of notice so that might be part of the equation as to why dragging this on. Yah, there's good and bad that he knows a week before so he can say goodbye to the players instead of getting the 'Gallant' treatment. |
I feel at this point the Canucks have sunk lower than the Messier-era. |

Meaningless lip service from Allvin there. Just absolutely devoid of any actual class as human beings from this management group right now. |
I'll probably watch Bruce's future team more than this current cesspool of a local team. Because, by the time Bruce has a new home, this team still won't be any better. I feel bad for the young fans. THIS is what they have to look up too? |

Uh.... it says thanks to Bruce and Trent.... so that means Mike Yeo stays? :| |

Tocchet went 125-131-34 in 290 games in Arizona. See you guys in 2035 when we finally make the 1st round of the playoffs. |

So so unimpressed with Tocchet on the presser. And Allvin ... I think he failed the communications part of Mgmt school. Didn't think any GM could be worst than Benning in terms of public relations and communications ... Allvin is. Hope that the only positive thing about Tocchet coming is what some have alluded to, it will give OEL nightmares and want to waive his no trade clause. |
