His cap hit will hurt the Canucks for years to come. I can't see his production level being an 8mil player as he ages

Hondaracer 03-03-2023 11:00 AM

8 mill is like a 75 point player these days

But yea if he isn’t touching 75 points with regularity, we’re in trouble

teggy604 03-03-2023 11:08 AM

His defensive play is horrible. Points is only one part of the equation.
Come playoff time his hot headed tempered tantrum might hurt the team more than help. Cool heads always prevail in sudden death games.

JT Miller on 8 year contract at 8M... Canucks worst management in the league

Bruins 9 year contract at 11M for Pasta... Bruins are geniuses and Sweeney for nobel prize

Both will be mid-30's when their contracts end... yes I realize Pasta is a higher tier player than Miller in some ways, but he's also getting $3M more a season...

Future considerations. :considered:

Clearing contract space? Are we at the 50 contract limit?

bobbinka 03-03-2023 12:40 PM

Nice................

Soccer has surpassed hockey in popularity. Football, Basketball, and Baseball are the top three.

What's wrong with draft picks? I mean, Bedard can be our young C next year, no???

More on PIT/VAN Miller trade:

Both teams were willing to deal with each other and were thinking of ways that they could possibly make it happen.

He thinks a deal would have to be extremely complicated, involving 2 other processes: 1) finding a young C around the league, maybe PIT trading for that player and then trading it to Van, or a three way deal with another team. 2) Pittsburgh would have to think about what their roster would look like after acquiring Miller’s salary.

He doesn’t believe there was an actual “offer” made. Both were willing to do it, but didn’t have what each other wanted.

Friedman doesn’t think this is over. It could be discussed in the off-season. He just heard that right now it was complicated, but it doesn’t mean they can’t go back to this.

It’s really hard to do, they probably need one more team, or maybe two, involved.

Marek asks, why is Van calling Pit if they want a young C? Friedman says he wouldn’t be surprised if the two teams discussed the players around the league they like and how to acquire them.

Friedman thinks rumours went crazy in the past few days because Van and/or Pit were talking to other teams about this. Marek agrees this is what happened

Not to jinx it but Demko looks really good, almost back in full form. Very efficient movement again, so pucks just find him.

It's not just because he's a Canuck - I love watching this guy play

bobbinka 03-04-2023 05:02 PM

Laffs are such a joke. They're so stacked, they should be blowing every team out of the water.

whitev70r 03-04-2023 05:11 PM

Team Tank here but for tonight, I wouldn't mind the Canucks getting 2 pts :lol

Tough when you're playing a team with Demko, Pettersson and Kuzer

As trashy as the organization is, they have some great players. I can see why they don't want to rebuild. They want to build around Miller and Petey.

Edit and just like that 2 shorties LUL

Hondaracer 03-04-2023 05:25 PM

Hahahahahahaha!

Fuck both those goals were sickkkkk though Damn

SkinnyPupp 03-04-2023 05:32 PM
