What makes everyone so sure that in a few yrs even with all the retool pieces EP40 will resign with this shit organization? He seems like he gets along with Horvat a lot better than Miller. And if this team is not competitive hes asking for a trade out. |

These guys aren't gonna sit around and wait it out. If they're 20 then perhaps. |
That was a quick trade of Quick haha. Quickie gets traded to the Jackets and then to the Golden Knights. https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article...uiring-goalie/ |
-won't be here for a rebuild -has played with 80 players this year -still mentions losing Tanev |
"We need a RH Defenseman ASAP and at all costs!" *gets RHD* "wE oVeRpAiD!" "z0mg Chychrun only cost an additional 2nd round pick, we should've gotten him instead!!11!!1!!" *If Chychrun was acquired instead if Hronek* "OMG WHY DID WE GET AN LH DEFENSEMAN???" Basically what has happened in the last 24 hours :lol |
I don't think 99% of Canucks fans were saying we need a RHD at all costs... or even significant cost. The team does need one, every team needs one, but this particular team isn't suddenly going to be contenders with one. |
The problem with the Canucks' defence is that the two veteran d-men on this team are some of their worst players. Tyler Myers is a 6 foot 8 foot marshmallow. -softer than a roll of Charmin toilet paper. Forget about being a shut down defenceman. Myers won't even use his size to clear out opposing players in front of Demko on a consistent basis. I remember a recent road game that the Canucks played against Nashville. A Preds forward had multiple chances to score on Silovs because Myers just stood in front of the goalie instead of putting that Nashville player's ass on the ice! Sure enough, that Nashville player scored a goal by being able to stand in front of the goalie. OEL plays out of position frequently. A big minus player on the team. A cap hit of $8.25 million and Myers average annual salary of 6 million per season make these underachieving bozos hard to trade away. OEL also has a full no trade clause. It doesn't matter that much if the Canucks acquire Hronek if the team still has dead weight with Myers and OEL on the team. Who is the shut down defenceman for the team? Can Hronek do the job as a shut down d-man and contribute offensively? Tocchet mentioned that Hronek has a bomb of a shot at the point. How good a defender is Hronek though? |
Giving up a 1st from this year's draft is steep. they could've negotiated conditions on the 1st, like... if NYI's pick is this year's, then we keep it and they get our next year's, or if it's next's year they only get the lower pick between NYI and ours. Heck, this could've waited till end of season to get a better idea of where our picks were going to be. |

The best case would be for the team to agree to tank the rest of the year to improve our chances at Bedard but we can't do that. In either case, we have < 2 years to convince Petey to stay. If he leaves, #teamrebuild will get their rebuild by default. We will need to dump Myers, buy out OEL, and hope Demko gets back to the Demko of old if we have a chance at re-signing Petey. |
That was nice, RIP Gino |
What's with the wieners yelling "free!" during the anthem? Is that a Canucks thing? Free Bruce? He's already gone! |

Miller's miraculous recovery: Dreger reports that the Canucks and Pens were working on a Miller deal, but Canucks turned down the offer when the return was only multiple draft picks, they wanted a young C. "The Pens, for desperation, took a hard run at JT Miller. And Vancouver just said ‘we like the offer, we just can’t take it’ because it was draft picks, ‘we need a centreman and we’re not rebuilding in Vancouver and JT is gonna be a big part of our future" |
Lazar is traded to Jersey. GM Patrik Allvin announced today that the Vancouver Canucks have acquired a fourth-round pick in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for F Curtis Lazar. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
