Stillman from the limited amount of games I've watched looked terrible so getting a young asset back is fantastic. I know we traded a 2nd for Stillman but that was the price for the Hawks to take Dicks 3.1 mill cap hit so really this is a huge win. I don't know if any of these trades will pan out to anything but getting the young assets from the Bo trade, and now this is exactly what we need to do to restock our cupboard. Even if they ultimately don't pan out for the Nucks it's still important for the farm team. Now let's get Schenn, Boeser, and Myers out of here for some more.

Well.. Kuz is on a heater AND he's playing with Petey so that kinda helps... look at Beauvillier, when has he ever been even remotely close to a ppg player before joining the Canucks?

Miller is dragging Garland and Boeser around with him half the time, although Garland has also been on a heater lately

Wow they ended up getting nothing back for pooparty

Oilers got $3M salary cap ... that's a lot. A step towards being able to get someone like Mattias Ekholm from NSH.

Oilers were about to go over cap at the end of this week, they had no choice but to either trade PoolParty or put him on waivers to AHL and lose him for nothing... they chose trade him for almost nothing which is the right decision for right now... but they should have let him go a long time ago when they were getting offered 2nd rounders+

Gustafsson has seven goals and 38 points in 61 games for the Capitals this season while averaging 20:22 of ice time. The 30-year-old joined Washington on a one-year, $800,000 deal this past off-season.

With the trade, the Leafs gain $600,000 in cap space but still need to make another move in order to activate goaltender Matt Murray from long-term injured reserve.

Schenn plays for the Laffs now:


The Toronto Maple Leafs acquired stalwart defenceman Luke Schenn on Tuesday from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for a 2023 third-round pick, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.


I was hoping that the Alvin could get a second round pick from trading Schenn.

Oh well, a third rounder is better than nothing.

The best part is the Leafs play here on Saturday lol

This trade brings some convenience for Schenn in terms of his family situation.

He is probably staying here in Vancouver with his pregnant wife as I hear from news reports that she is due this week.

Schenn can just play with his new team and meet up with his new teammates in Vancouver before the Laffs game on Saturday without having to take a flight to T.O.

Pretty big one. Did they give up too much for Ekholm?


The Edmonton Oilers are adding some veteran experience to their blue line by acquiring veteran defenceman Mattias Ekholm from the Nashville Predators, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reports.

In exchange, the Oilers are sending Tyson Barrie to the Predators along with prospect Reid Schaefer, a first-round pick and a fourth-round pick. The Oilers will also receive a sixth-round pick.

Edmonton trades Tyson Barrie to Nashville for Mattias Ekholm.

I don't recall a trade deadline like this, and there's still 3 days to go

Ekholm actually plays D, which they need.

They gave up a lot but Edmonton needed D bad and Ekholm is good so I think its a good trade.

Yeesh.. Ekholm's cap hit of 6+ is gonna hurt for 3 more seasons? Maybe 4? Can't remember his contract and too lazy to google.

Nashville has an absolutely ridiculous stockhold of draft picks now.

2023 draft they have 2 firsts, a 2nd, 3 3rds and 3 4ths.

2025 they have 2 firsts as well... wow

And they could still flip Tyson Barrie to a team that needs a PP QB
