I assume DeSmith is extremely sick, because Silovs should not be playing |
Welp |
Uggggghhhhh |
If it wasn’t for the playoffs petey should be glued to the bench, embarrassing. |
No miracle this time |
Any watch party at Rogers Arena on Thurs? |

Like unless your wrist is broken you’ve gotta be at least strong on the puck ffs |
Feels like that game could've gone either way Let's close it out in Nashville boys |
Nashville came prepared that east/west pass seems to have been taken away this game by Nashville less hits, Nashville couldn't line match to take some bodies. Could be a disaster for Quinn Hughes next game as Nashville is at home and could throw out guys as needed Petey ... a little more tonight.. but definitely not enough sighh I also thought Tocchet should have challenged the tying goal. the PK is great and considering nobody had any momentum in the PP, i thought it was worth the risk |
why are there 52 guests in this thread. it's the same few people that post. are our posts that entertaining to read? |
Was at the game, amazing energy by the fans tonight, you can't say they didn't show up. Petey had noticably more energy once Lotto Line was reunited, Boeser was caught wrong-handed so many times - Miller must be used to playing with left shot linemates. The team overall lacks killer instinct, and I don't mean shooting from anywhere. Finding the man in the slot and being ready to pounce on rebounds is a skill no one seems to have. Could've gone either way tonight. |

Any thoughts on why many of the other games/series are so high scoring, whereas the Canucks/Predators games have been such low-scoring chess matches? |

Demko barely moves a muscle when making stops, so he's almost never out of place. He doesn't look like this spectacular goalie, because he doesn't need to. It's really amazing to watch if you focus on it |
The Official 2023/2024 Canucks & NHL Thread I wonder whether Tocchet starts Silovs or DeSmith in game 6. Silovs got beaten a few times in game 5 only for the posts to bail the team out. Power play had no power. -will be interesting to see what kind of adjustments Tocchet and his coaching staff will make for game 6. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
tough game last night. i thought the canucks came out strong and played well. nashville was simply able to execute one more chance to win the game. also: they've said multiple times DeSmith has a LBI, it's not illness. |
I'd imagine DeSmith will start as long as he's healthy, don't play till Friday hopefully he's good to go by then |
Wasn't DeSmith on the bench as a backup today? Can't really be a backup if you're injured |
it's a minor LBI, Tocchet said in the presser he was feeling better and good enough to backup Silovs. They're playing it safe because they'd rather DeSmith be as close to 100% before playing again so they don't have to rely on Silovs long term in the post season. |
It's actually a miracle that this 3rd string, no name goalie won a playoff game and played well enough to give the team a chance to win a 2nd game. When they pulled him at the end, I thought ... here we go ... but not this time. |
The team needs to do something that few teams in the playoffs do these days. Win 3 games on the road in order to advance to the second round of the playoffs. I am confident that the Tocchet and his coaching staff will make the necessary adjustments to generate more scoring chances. Like what Tocchet said to reporters after game 5, it was poor execution. The team wasn't able to set up their power play in game 5 for a couple PPs. Like what Bieksa said during the intermissions. There are two ways to adjust to the Preds' defenders blocking shots. 1) You keep shooting the puck hard to test the courage of the Nashville defenders. 2) Use the shot pass to make quick passes to another player. I remember Hronek using the shot pass in game 5. -would like to see Hronek shoot many more hard slap shots. The guy has a bomb of a shot. Like what Tocchet said about Petey. He is overthinking the game. Keep shooting the puck on one timers. Rely on his offensive instincts and shoot the puck. Read what the defence gives you and shoot the puck! Maybe put more big players in front of the net on the PP? What about putting Joshua in front of the net for one of the PP units? Low snap shots to create rebounds for scoring opportunities. |
lol, not that I watch the games, but Friday is next game. Time to be announced. What? They weren’t expecting a game 6? |
