Petey, please score it yourself.

AzNightmare 10-14-2023 07:42 PM

Canucks are constantly getting hemmed in like what Sedin's did to the Oilers back in the days.

pastarocket 10-14-2023 08:03 PM

Canucks need to stop taking penalties. Constant pressure in their own zone during the second period when the Coilers are on the PP.

It is still anyone’s game at 3-3.

Been a few seasons since I watched a Canucks game. Nice to see a #18 drive the net, not like the old 18.

SkinnyPupp 10-14-2023 08:31 PM

McDavid not very god-like so far this season

Good if you're a McDavid and Canucks fan SeemsGood

I know it’s only 2 games but they look great

Tonight’s game was one of the most complete games I remember them playing in a long time. Finally have some structure and a heavy forecheck, looks good

sonick 10-14-2023 08:53 PM

Bandwagon looks tempting this season...

Agreed with Honda it's not just about the wins but how their play looks in the wins. Structure, grit, tenacity.

Yup and while they did get into some trouble getting hemmed in by the McDavid line over and over, leading to bad penalties, that's going to happen to every team that plays the Coilers, and they survived. DeSmith might be a creep, but he's legit in net

AzNightmare 10-14-2023 08:55 PM

Pettersson has been playing a lot more physical

Tim Budong 10-14-2023 09:05 PM

a lot of fight and structure in today's game
and scoring throughout the lineup is great to see

Yeah, you can certainly see the structure in the team’s defensive system. The players are working hard to take away shooting lanes during penalty kills.

You also see more aggressive forecheck too.

A night and day difference in the way the team plays defence now under Tocchet compared to Boudreau.

That was a gutsy win. Will need plenty more of those to make it into the playoffs. DeSmith kept them in that game, will need more of those from a backup.

I missed the game entirely last night but it was exactly as I predicted, a 1 goal difference. Loved to see the players who scored last night on the highlights. That was a well deserved victory!

Canucks make a trade with the Penguins.

Jack Rathbone plays for Pittsburgh now.

Defenceman Mark Friedman and forward Ty Glover were obtained by the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for defenseman Jack Rathbone and forward Karel Plasek on Tuesday.

Friedman, 27, split the 2022-23 season between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the AHL, registering a goal and two assists for three points in 23 NHL games. At the AHL level, the right-shot defenceman had one goal and five assists for six points in 24 games.

In 65 career NHL games with Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, the five-foot-11, 185-pound defenceman has four goals and eight assists for 12 points.

The Toronto native was drafted by the Flyers in the third round (86th overall), in the 2014 NHL Draft.
