I had decided I'd rather see the leafs advanced than the Bruins simply becuz with the Bruins, its a personal hate for 2011, sure while only Marchand remains on that team from 2011, he was an integral part of that 2011 beat down of the Canucks. This leafs team though... sure, series was great, but watching their core on the OT winner... Marner just watched Pasta blow by him. That guy is an issue and while it wasn't Nylander's man to stop pasta, simply watching isnt good enough for me what a fucking joke. |
Marner watching the puck and letting Pasta skate away from him was somewhat egregious... everyone is blaming him... but that puck was picked up in front of the damn net, that's not the winger's responsibility anymore they had enough guys back it was literally Pasta alone against 3 Leafs and the goalie... Nylander with remote disconnected on the entire play is embarrassing too. I don't know what that team does going forward. At least they can safely say Woll is likely their future starting goalie, Samsonov is cooked in that city. But Marner is probably the one that needs to go, not just cap hit wise but also for his general attitude and the perception of his effort. Problem is, he has a full NMC this year and next year before his contract runs out. Stupid Dubas, give a guy NMC in the years where you would need to deal him not in the beginning when it's less likely. |
The Laffs' 6 most expensive players all have NMC, compared to our 1. Oh how the turntables, did they hire Jim Benning or something? It'll be interesting to see how this plays out. Sheldon Keefe has a 2 year extension that hasn't even started yet, lol. |
On that last play where Boston scored, it was like all the players had a brain fart. Pasta skated around 3-4 white shirt players ... no forecheck, no D. But that's all it takes, 5 seconds of falling asleep at the wheel so to say. It was that tight of a game, one or two errors and it's game over. |
Not sure if true, Reddit says we get Chris Cuthbert |

none of them recognized the play. pasta was already building up speed at his own blue line in anticipation of what unfolded. by the time the leafs figured it out, it was too late. no one was going to be able to catch up since they were all flat footed in that moment. absolutely crushing way to end the series. leafs fans are saying they're numb to this loss. that's more damning than pain or disappointment. they expected this, ouch. |
I think we can all agree that Marner is most likely on the way out (NMC, but doesn't mean he doesn't want out) and Keefe is out for sure after that comment during yesterday's presser. |
yeah that presser comment was mind-blowing for a coach lol. he knows he's done. leafs nation all seem pretty convinced marner and tavares need to go to make room for change. i tend to agree, of the core four i'd only keep matthews and nylander to build around. |
^ summary of what Keefe said? |
|
:lol ... I don't even what that means or implies. The opposing team plays in a way to stay in the game and just wait for the Leafs to make a gaffe? Which is what happened in OT. |
the top comments on that post are quite good if you're on twitter lol. |
For maximum heartbreak next year, the Laffs have to make it to round 2. Fans have gotten used to losing in round 1 |

if they ever start playing. |
Bye Vegas ... thanks Dallas for getting rid of them! LTIR loophole doesn't always work ... ha. |
Peter DeBoer is 8-0 in Game 7s, that's legit |
Oilers are -260 favourites, it makes sense most people are picking them. |
So glad VGK is eliminated. Big thanks to Dallas from the rest of NHL fans |
DeBoer was coach at Vegas ... gets fired and Cassidy takes them to Promiseland. Now, DeBoer gets past to next round by beating VGK. |
So game 1 is actually Wednesday and not Tuesday. More time for our injured to rest |

Already having withdrawals |
You know what, I love it. I want us to be the under dogs. I want everyone to bet against us. This is already one hell of a season, everything from here on out for me is a bonus. Oilers are definitely playing like a juggernaut right now so kudos to them for turning it around so dramatically. |
