Nah, like what MG1 said in an earlier post about the Dodgers Yamamoto.

Any pitcher even Yamamoto can have an off day.

He is not invincible.

The Blue Jays offence is very scary. They beat up a good pitcher in Blake Snell twice in the World Series in games 1 and this game 5.

One more win, Blue Jays!!!

ONE MORE WIN!!!!!

They just need to get to Yamamoto early and it's a winnable game

Jays in Game 6!

What I really like, more like treasure, is how Buck way back at the start of the season said, "This team has what it takes to go far and possibly win it all." Nobody took him seriously. He's seen it all. Doesn't matter if he was a shitty manager or is going senile. He knows his shit.

On a side note. Madison Shipman. Damn. For a softball chick she's pretty good. Plus, easy on the eyes.

Wow, kudos given to the production crew. One of them is on reddit and posts some incredible stuff.

Great post game press conference. Schneider is awesome. Even when shit has gone sideways, he explains stuff and really knows the intricacies of the game. On top of that, he really knows his players and has great rapport with them.

So easy to forget the call he made to put Little in now, lol.

I think if the Jays can hit Yamamoto early and score some runs in the first couple innings they'll have a chance. He seems to be the kind of guy that gets better as the game goes on so if you let him get in a groove you're fucked.

I've watched enough baseball to know that no one is ever an automatic win.

Or statistically, Yamamoto already pitched 2 unreal games ... he's due for a bad one, it's a matter of when.

Hopefully it goes better than game 2, where he threw for 9 innings and only allowed 4 hits!

So glad we get a one day break ... it's emotionally exhausting :lol . Three tense games in a row ... maybe 5 tense games in a row !!

onrdukes, what is it like in Toronto/Ontario these past couple of weeks? Pandemonium? Low productivity?

bcrdukes 10-30-2025 11:16 AM

My own (limited) experience only:
1. Traffic got exponentially worse
2. Low productivity in general
3. People are generally well behaved. They don't riot like in Vancouver (we'll see.)

bcrdukes 10-30-2025 11:36 AM

Purely anecdotal but I think on Game 2 last weekend, the city closed off the Gardiner Expressway, and it coincideded with the game the day before.

I had an appointment Downtown Toronto which normally takes me about an hour to get to, door-to-door, with 15 minutes to spare. Because of the Gardiner closure, it took me 3 hours. Total time spent in traffic for that day: 8.

Come at me about traffic, bitches. :accepted:

whitev70r 10-30-2025 11:39 AM

omg! that alone is one reason to get the hell out of 416/905 ...

Isn't there talk about taking the 'Gardiner Parking Lot' down?

bcrdukes 10-30-2025 11:43 AM

They've taken out a portion of the Gardiner eastbound where it diverts traffic on to Lakeshore Boulevard. As for the Gardiner itself? Olivia Chow had approved repair/restoration (re: chaos) work to the Gardiner in preparation for the increase in traffic and to accommodate for FIFA 2026. Outside of that, I think we'll need Doug Ford's successor to take it to the next level. :D

whitev70r 10-30-2025 12:08 PM

Dig a tunnel under the Gardiner !!

bcrdukes 10-30-2025 12:11 PM

Dig a tunnel for the 401 too! #FordNation :fuckthatshit:

whitev70r 10-30-2025 12:14 PM

Yah, that was his original plan that I read in the news, while you're at it, why not go south as well and dig under the DVP, then onto Gardiner Expressway ... go Musk. Not as if the subway is working well ... :lol

My Jays ML and Strikeout bets are hitting!

supafamous 10-30-2025 03:48 PM

I can't believe the Jays are this close to a World Series - it was absolutely not on my bingo card this year. At the start of the year I figured them for a .500 team and it's been a huge surprise to see so many players outperform expectations. Springer and Bichette both had terrific years while guys like Clement came out of nowhere.

Throughout the season I just figured the Cinderella ride would end and it was just a cute season like many before it.

whitev70r 10-30-2025 04:30 PM

Yah, I'm ready to eat crow ... and happy to. I thought they didn't have a chance 'gainst the mighty Dodgers with Ohtani but they are up in the series with 2 chances to win it all.

This is the Year of the Jays and the Canucks! :alonehappy:

whitev70r 10-30-2025 05:10 PM

And maybe the Whitecaps and the BC Lions?? At least these 2 teams made it into the playoffs ... we shall see about the Nucks.
