Why would you not walk Ohtani? That's the biggest advantage you have in the game, being able to intentionally walk people

I think that the GM Schneider talked with his coaching staff about the option to walk Ohtani.

Ohtani is also a great base stealer besides his hitting power. He had 20 stolen bases during the regular season.

If they walk Ohtani, they also take the risk of putting a good base stealer on base with Mookie Betts and Freeman next at bat. Plenty of offence from Betts and Freeman.
