how long did the chia take to chia? (how long did the seeds take to grow?)

Badhobz 02-03-2026 10:24 PM

I don’t know. I opened it Jan 29 (last Thursday) so it’s been not even a week and it’s starting to sprout.

I'm guessing because it's a buyers market for jobs, but so many recruiters who send a message to reach out, then never actually respond to you if you responded. So unprofessional. For a agency recruiter it can kind of being excused some time, but still a short message of "Sorry this role has been filled" would be nice.

The really inexcusable ones are the corporate recruiters who don't respond. SMH

White elephant = nude pics of Hobz after a long winter

I should shave my head and go sit naked around those Chinese temples this time of year. I’m sure those old ladies will give me a lot of money.

Badhobz 02-04-2026 12:56 PM

You can buy your own cha seeds and re apply after the first batch dies. The packet says it’s good for 3-4 grows.

unit 02-04-2026 01:09 PM

ya they are literally just normal chia seeds.
i tried to chia many things before including mugs and even a stapler.
doesnt work well on smooth surfaces, also the terra cotta material the chia pet grows from is porous i learned, so it doesn't dry out the seeds as quickly. if you try to chia anything else you have to be misting it like 3x a day at least.

Chia pet update (no one cares)

- the drip tray almost overflowed. Would have made a huge mess...
- the top seeds are not sprouting much due to a lack of water. will need to mist them
- need to mist them 3x a day... who the hell has time for that!?!?

I didn't know you're supposed to empty this drip tray daily and refill the water to the top.

This is quite a bit of work for a fucking bush.

1/10 not recommended.

Sounds like someone without kids/patience.

The effort/end result should be worth it.. which is not always the case when it comes to kids lol
