Meanwhile in Victoria my neighbours were mowing their lawns this past weekend lol.

yray 01-26-2026 11:24 AM

I was expecting those houses to have 12" of snow on the roof.

I'm sure that's the case in other parts of the GTA, or even further out.

Badhobz 01-26-2026 11:40 AM

bcrdukes 01-26-2026 11:41 AM

Wow, dad joke of the year and it's only January.

68style 01-26-2026 12:05 PM

You guys want to borrow a chinook?

bcrdukes 01-26-2026 12:32 PM

Normally, I would say yes, but I can imagine the chaos that would ensue with all the snow melting so quickly.

GS8 01-26-2026 12:43 PM

Snow squalls and lake effects are where I draw the line when it comes to winter living in this country :fuckthatshit:

I don't like the bone chilling cold in Vancouver, either though. Gross

Badhobz 01-26-2026 01:35 PM

How about the frigid ass Vancouver bitches instead ?

makes me think, we here in the lower mainland had a warmer winter this year. But winter is not over yet, so who knows. We might get a big dump in march or April.

6793026 01-26-2026 03:03 PM

i want to see what' sgoing on in texas

RabidRat 01-26-2026 03:05 PM

Man, I'm having the time of my life in Toronto. I left California for this!!

I let the snow pile all the way to the max this morning, before I took out this beast:

I recently picked up this Greenworks Pro 80V snow thrower. It just absolutely, completely, obliterates and launches the snow way the fk outta there. And it has a controllable chute, so that I can aim it all into a pile, rather than out onto the street or into my neighbors' driveways like with my old cheap one lol.

I'm having the time of my life out here in the GTA. Between the mass snow-clearing and the all-wheel drifting through the back road powder, I've never had so much fun lol.

This was yesterday's shoveling efforts.

For you parents, if you let your kid move to the GTA, you fucked up.

bobbinka 01-26-2026 03:14 PM

how long does the 2.0Ah battery last.....?

RabidRat 01-26-2026 03:16 PM

I actually got the tool-only version: I already had a 4Ah and 2Ah from my lawnmower.

So it was only $270 on clearance!!

Phenomenal smiles-to-$ ratio. Right up there with 2nd gear pulls to 17,000rpm on the R6.

The only thing that makes me sad is that this kind of snow dumping only happens a couple times a year.

bcrdukes 01-26-2026 03:30 PM

Damn, I wish I Craftsman had an equivalent!

Edit: Actually, they do! Craftsman Snow Blower Kit But oh man, $699.99 @ Rona. :okay:

Double ouch: Sold out!

unit 01-26-2026 03:34 PM

we bought a 24" toro gas blower but can't use it :(
was actually kinda looking forward to it

bcrdukes 01-26-2026 03:43 PM

I used the battery-powered blower to my advantage but given how deep the snow was, it barely made a dent. :lol

Badhobz 01-26-2026 03:45 PM

These things blow….. i hope you got them from costco. They are notorious for blowing-up. Not that i know personally, but from what ive read about SNOWJOE (low quality cuz its from joe…. Just like SUNJOE also trash)

Yeah that's a terrible deal. But I guess it's kinda like buying an AC unit in the middle of a heat wave.

Wait til summer to pick up a snow obliterator!

I think gas-operated appliances/tools are banned (I could be wrong.)

I'm not sure how this applies to existing gas-powered lawn mowers. My dad's Honda has been super reliable and it is gas-powered (4-stroke.)

unit 01-26-2026 04:48 PM

I mean cause theres no snow out here

How about just JOE

Badhobz 01-26-2026 05:10 PM

have you seen the ports? low quality man... very very low quality. Everything they remark about made in china is true....

Speaking of which, i should get that tattooed on the back of my neck.
