Sorry that you can't see the damage in these photos, they're not mine.

The oil cap was loose enough for some oil to leak onto the exhaust manifold, it started a small fire and some smoke. We took it apart and luckily nothing was damaged, the heat shield had some carbon on it but we were able to clean it off.

I was honestly expecting the worst when I heard the phone call, pretty crazy...

This is the wrong thread so sorry about the OT guys, but ill answer anyways.

One scratch was a rather deep one took all the paint off and gouged the aluminum underneath slightly. I thought this would show up under the wrap, but it was covered and I cannot even tell where it was anymore.

The other scratch was minor, surface paint only, but it was on my a-pillar and was actually from a bicycle tire (taking my bike off my roof racks). So it was a lot of little tiny scratches.

Getting both scratches fixed would mean painting and blending the a-pillar and an entire door.

Then because of the condition of the rest of the paint I would have to get a full polish (like it would have had to have been the most extreme polish ever) more than even I with my like 3 years of experience polishing and detailing cars would not want to try and tackle. So I would have had to farm that out, and my guess would have been about 600 to 1000 bucks for someone like terrence to go over the entire car.

So now we are up to about $2000 alone just getting those items fixed, and then I would have had to deal with the front bumper which had plenty of rock chips, and other various marks and small door dings.

Instead I chose to just wrap the car. The entire car looks BRAND new, and I don't know about your friend and where he got his G35 wrapped, but if mine starts to peel wrap-workz has a warranty on the installation.

I guess you can come back and ask me in a year, but so far after a month of having the car wrapped I am still genuinely pleased with the results and would re-do again.

Also when you say "maintenance" I have no idea what you are talking about, my wrap is far less maintenance than the paint job. All I do is wipe it down with alcohol every few days. Takes like 30 minutes. Washing my car, then drying it, then wax, and clay barring, etc could take upwards of 6 hours about twice a year, then just a regular wash would take about 1 to 2 hours.

Yeah if I had a Audi/VW I would be taking my car to RPI almost exclusively. South of the border there is another shop too ACHTuning. Both seem to do fantastic work on audi/VW's.

I'm personal friends with the owner of the Aventador and I'm personal friends with the people that run Goldrush Rally. Goldrush liked the over the top framing of how we were portraying their lifestyle and agreed to sponsor us to further promote their products in our style- that explains the watermark at the bottom. I think it would be a tough task for anyone to find evidence of me claiming the Aventador was my car. Our over the top framing has put us in DuPont Registry along with dozens of other media outlets. It's literally easy marketing.

In my opinion it's rather peculiar that this photo alone was singled out. The only place this specific edit was posted was on my personal Facebook account. The only other place a similar edit of this was posted was on the Goldrush Rally Facebook page, where it was 2 post behind a photo of myself with the owner from the exact same shoot. Rather funny how that got glossed over and taken out of context.

But in all seriousness, when I personally dealt with Ascent of Speed back then, it was Marcel doing the work and "the other people" freeloading, since they have broken up I have gotten together to organize some stuff for both "AoS" a.k.a Mr.Leung and also Marcel Lech Photograph aka Mr.Lech.

Marcel was able to produce top notch photos and deliver it at an extremely fast time, where Mr.Leung did not end up delivering the pictures to this date funny that it has almost been a year... The worst part is the owners organized an event for him to get some pictures in return and they still have nothing.

Marcel and Justin is a great team and they get things done.

Also lets be honest, all the pictures Marcel posts are friggen sweet.

Edits have timestamps, the edits were done before your post for clarification and spelling.

I didn't even know what the Tipo 33 Stradale was- and since your time is so valuable, I took it upon myself to check for you. There's one singular post about this car. Plus tickets are 50$ for general admission, no one is forcing you to come.

I'm certain even with today's meet, there were people that said they would be in attendance but never ended up showing up, there's no legally binding obligation for any owners to show up to my show either. Furthermore I highly doubt that influenced ticket sales either.

Regardless, I'll personally see to it, if that's what you're interested in, that you get a ticket for next year to make up for the missing Tipo 33 Stradale.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not pissed by any means. I just feel very sorry for you. For someone that suggests that I should discuss this matter privately, you certainly have an odd and contradicting way of publicly posting in this thread a private photo of mine from Facebook and claiming it was from somewhere else. Similar situation happened with my car. I contacted Chris at CG to ask if he knew any of his customers were planning on selling their e36 m3s. He put me in contact with someone who was on the fence about selling their car and wanted it to go to a good home so was struggling with the idea of listing it to deal with the bullshit that comes along with it. I offered asking price, and he threw in a free set of wheels and both of us left happy. Enjoy your new car. It truly is a beauty.

If you know a decent welder for the 993 you can turn your mufflers into the aftermarket sport mufflers (which I believe are like 600-800 for the pair) by welding the pipe in between in and out flow

My dad did it on his and it really increases the throatyness as low RPMs

Hondaracer: thanks for the heads up. So those motor sound mufflers are pricey. The previous owner thinks the exhaust could be motor sound or aftermarket so who knows.

I think vehicle armor is like bullpup rifles.
If they're from the factory, you're good to go, but you can't retrofit armor on a vehicle that wasn't built like that.

Don't take my word for it, but chances are the laws are similar.

Upon further research looks like the Evade is the non-armored version, rather their Knight XV is the one that is fully armored.

No one knew that car was armored until the cops found it and seized it. That car was on eBay months after, being sold to a buyer outside of Canada only, as it could not be registered in Canada now that they knew it was armored.
